1 or 2??? Here in California we might not even mention it in casual conversation if it’s below 4.5...

I'm usually in the shower, but not logged on.

I know!! LOL.

It's just not that common in the GSMNP. It wasn't the first and won't be the last. It's definitely a 'Honorable Mention' in conversations in our areas. It was enough to rattle the knick knacks off the wall.

The first year we moved to the Wet Mountains of Colorado, there was a 4.3 just south of us centered in the Sangre De Cristos.

We were on the deck lighting the barbecue and didn't feel any movement, but we all got dizzy for a few seconds.

People in CA would probably sleep right through a small trembler like that, but it sure got our attention! LOL

LOL... No offense was taken from any posts coming toward/at me ;)
BTW... in case you`re wondering how I am posting with all the PC probs... I have a laptop/NOTO backup... only use it when my normal system wants to make me lose more hair and jump off my balcony (first floor BTW ;))

To Calpernia, Bean Counter: thank you for being concerned ;D

dawn53: damn quick and accurate!!! Crud.. the epicenter is about 45 miles from me!! I live in Chiba city... Why couldn`t NHK get that info to me that quick... (kinda funny (but not).. when I turned on the NHK news.. they had a live ENGLISH lesson about the earthquake (which didn`t give any useful/up to date information... they just wanted to let the people know how to say `earthquake`in Japanese... :/

cripplecreek: yeah, today... you might be 12-15 hours behind me... but it happened a few minutes ago... >,<

cripplecreek: about, roughly, 45 miles... kilometers compaired to miles confuses me sometimes... :/

JRios1968: I still, after 10 years, have nightmares about that... when I can sleep...

Publius6961: Wasn`t sleeping (5:30am here BTW)... like I said in my original message... I`m still fighting my main PC problem... >.<

RightWhale: Why is it that I am always laying down or leaning against something when it happens here.. fate?!? :?

mother22wife21: I know how that feels too.... When I wasw still in the states (Texas), I was on my PC, slightly before the internet, about 2am or so.... my PC chair moved... I thought I must be tired (I was a Deputy Sheriff at the time)... then I noticed my pictures on the wall swaying too... can`t imagine that too, so I thought... called dispatch and asked if they had any calls about an explosion... She said, “No... but we`ve had about 15 calls about an earthquake”... I almost spoiled my pants then... WEST Texas doesn`t HAVE earthquakes.... guess I was wrong (BTW.. compared to here... scale 1 to 10.. it was a minus 10!)

PBRSTREETGANG: OMG!!!! looks like my mother!

BlazingArizona: Roaches come to play right before?!? Heck.. I fight them off every day!!! about 2 months ago, I swear, one of them attacked me!!! Was bigger than I am used to... biggest I have ever seen was in boot camp (USAF) in San Antonio, although I have heard there are larger ones... never had terrorist roaches before I came to Japan though >.<

where in Japan are you located? I went through a dandy in 1982 or 83 when I was a young marine stationed at Misawa Air Base.

Best duty I had.

It’s the rarity that makes it conversation worthy.

FWIW, the first earthquake I slept through was in Beautiful Beaufort in 1960 or so.

Buy a real computer, an IMAC, and move away from Nippon.

Sorry.... not a hollyweird type... like to have a challenge to get something working (even if I can`t ;) ) ... must be an image thing... maybe if all of the shows and movies didn`t promote mac so much, I might actually be interested :/
