So...is this illegal alien murderer going to be serving less time than Ramos and Compean?

Not less, it's A LOT LESS. After all, he is a member of a protected class... criminal illegal alien.

This looks like a normal prosecution to me: charge of DWI upgraded to involuntary manslaughter;immigration detainer lodged.

Being here illegally is a misdemeanor offense.Possession of false documents would upgrade that to (possibly) a low-grade felony-normally resolved via deportation.

For comparison’s sake, assume the DWI driver was a US citizen, but had an outstanding warrant for criminal trespass on gov’t property. The major charge to be dealt with is still the DWI-related death.
