senses of smell are tampered with, ending up aggressively trying to mount any mouse

This is great news, now if they will find something to make other “organs” function with greater verossity????

"After they knocked out this gene in specially bred mice,...

Wait a minute now! How do you breed mice in a special way? Inquiring minds want to know.

As to whether or not this applies to humans, especially since humans lack vomeronasal organs, "my guess is as good as yours," Dulac told LiveScience

Since humans don't have the vomeronasal organs (neither do higher primates)...probably doesn't explain it, LOL.

However, I'm amazed at this article because even though they state early on that humans don't have this same "organ"...they end the article with this.

These findings might open up new avenues for investigation into the brain origins of sex-specific human behavior.

“Right now lots of guys are talking their wives/girlfriends out of boob jobs in favor of nose jobs.”

How would one convince his wife if she has a perfectly good nose and boobs to get this nose job?

The females are trying to mount the males? They may have stumbled on to something entirely different than sex drive.

I'm pretty sure that's incorrect. There was considerable research being conducted a few years back on the human vomeronasal organ.

as randy as males ..., ending up aggressively trying to mount any mouse that moves

Sorry, if they were as randy as males, if it didn't move, they'd shake it and "mount" it.

The organ is found in the noses of practically all land vertebrates, except humans and other higher primates.

I just got my info from the article.

In humans the vomeronasal organ is probably less any discrete identifiable blob of tissue, like a liver or kidney, than a tract of organized neurons. Such pathways are a little harder to nail down anatomically and physiologically.
