Karl Rove Departure Timed To Distract From Karl Rove Departure

In a move hailed by Bush supporters as a master stroke of political strategery and assailed by critics as part of a consistent program of too- conveniently- timed distractions, Karl Rove has turned over the Washington apple cart by hiding news of his departure from the White House, with the stunning announcement of his departure from the White House.
I question the timing, said Harry Reid. Weve seen this time and again with this Administration, whether announcing dramatic so- called terror arrests to deflect attention from the Ned Lamont primary victory, flying planes into the World Trade Center to distract from a draconian decision on stem cell lines, or steering hurricane Katrina directly into New Orleans to distract from whatever that was supposed to be distracting from, Rove is the dark master of this kind of political legerdemain.

Yeah, but y’know I saw Rove was AT the White House today. He’s not gone! His leaving was a distraction to cover the fact that he’s retiring, which is merely a distraction to cover the fact that he was at the White House today.
But, I was too distracted by him leaving to notice whether he left.

He is headed to the undisclosed underground bunker for the up coming battles. He will command things from the lair.

Very, very old footage of Karl Rove working for the Nixon campaign. Young Rove appears around 3:50.

If (hopefully not when) we see the execrable likes of Carville, Begala, Lehane, Blumenthal, etc, etc, back in charge of spin and strategy for President Hillary, we’ll be missing old Karl, amnesty or no amnesty.

The dims are just angry they were blind-sided and had no inkling he was about to resign. The DBM would have wanted to let it be perceived that outside forces from within their swirling alliance played a role in Rove's departure.

Harry Reid doesn't have the mental capacity to use a word as big as 'legerdemain'...but I guess that's really the only way to tell this is a fake quote.
