NAMPA U.S. Rep. Bill Sali expressed doubt Friday about the value of multiculturalism and warned that non-Christian principles could jeopardize the protective hand (of God) thats been over this country.
Sali made his remarks at a meeting of the Idaho Press-Tribunes editorial board.
The statements came not long after the Republican 1st District congressman said he did not like the use of Hindu prayer to open a session of the U.S. Senate last month. He also said the prayer and a Muslim member of Congress were not what was envisioned by the Founding Fathers. A spokesman for the Idaho Democratic Party denounced Salis remarks, calling them un-American and an embarrassment to the state.
Friday, Sali said multiculturalism is in conflict with the national motto E Pluribus Unum, or out of many, one. He said multiculturalism would mean out of the many, the many.
The question is, is multiculturalism good or not? Sali said. I dont think the Founding Fathers were multicultural. Multiculturalism is the antithesis of (the motto). Sali said the United States was founded on principles derived primarily from the Scriptures. And he said drifting away from those principles could put the country in danger.

He passes ~ definitely a "multi-culti" job if there ever were one.
Did he say he doesn't trust it?
Telling on him to his momma Fur Shur.
One’s culture is defined by one’s values, large and small. It is not defined by the origin of one’s name.
“multi-culti” means more-it means multi-cultural such as in societal cultures. Sali is talking about traditional American culture (and the “melting pot”) v.s. multi-cultural meaning other (3rd world mostly, and non-Christian) cultures trying to pan themselves off as “equal” with American culture and Christianity in the U.S!
I am with him on that one..and btw it doesn’t mean “ethnicity” specifically; though it can refer to it.
We don't know where the specific Congresscritter's people come from, but Finland is not Germany, nor is it Mexico. For all we know here the guy loves tacos on Thursdays and stuffed seal meat on Fridays.
Since he appears to be an Idaho type, he might even be one of my distant/not-so-distant cousins with relatives in the Apostolic Charismatic Church of the First Born which hides out there in the mountains ~ they pine for the days of chasing reindeer through the taiga when Little Red Man was the chief god of their 5 part pantheon.
Although they are almost all descended from the first modern Europeans to settle America (SEE: New Sweden), they are fundamental to our society. On the other hand, if the Congresscritter doesn't know about this bunch of his (probable) relatives, he's just talking through his (double peaked and pointed) hat.
Hand me my snowshoes; time to get outta' here!
If Craig does what I think he should do and retires, I think the “heir apparent” would probably be Lt. Gov Jim Risch. The commie alternative in ‘08 for that seat would be Larry LaRocco, who will probably get beat like a drum again.
I won’t support Larry Craig for reelection, and I will not support Jim Risch to replace him. Risch’s support for the liberal former Governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney, disqualifies him.
That’s right, I forgot about Risch supporting Romney. I posted that here though, didn’t I?
Isn’t Risch about 80 anyway?
New tagline...
And, as one who grew up in Kentucky, I can assure you have more "pointy hat" types in Indiana than we have here in Idaho.
He is one of the few in Congress that is not a "Congresscritter". We need more of his type, and less of Larry Craig's breed of RINO.

The left could not get much mileage with their anti-American culture: too negative. So they got a Madison Avenue makeover and came up with “multiculturalism” which carries a lot more cache with the cognoscenti. But to be sure, what we are facing is Multiculturalism vs. American culture.
You don’t use Mormon websites do you?
I think most of the folks in Maysville moved to Indianapolis in the 50s, though.
What's going on is you guys have your definition of "multiculturalism" and then there's the reality of "multiculturalism". I live there. Every major religion and every major world language occurs right here in this little bitty neighborhood (of only 110 homes)
They all want their kids to grow up to be educated people who can get good jobs. Everyone supports George Mason University's basketball team.
Risch is 65, two years older than Craig.
Founding Fathers = British citizens until the Declaration.
I don’t think Great Britain was very multicultural when they were colonizing.
