Actually, we post the nasty truth about nasty folks — without regard for race, religion or country of origin...

Deal with it, punk.

Ex Congress Critter Ford has proved the voters of Tennessee correct in tossing his ass out of his paid political scam..

The Fords of Memphis have sucked at the public teat and stolen far too much for far too long......
Time for the bastards to get a job or go to jail...

There are many ethnic groups here.

Ford is trying to push people away because FR must be having an impact.

We are the NUMBER ONE CONSERVATIVE FORUM IN THE USA!

Number 8 overall.

They can’t control here.

FREEREPUBLIC = CLARITY

That’s why the Democrats are trying to shut us down, directly or by trying to fool voters into not listening to us at all

Too Late.

Harold Ford probably doesn't like it that we help expose the TRUTH about him. Witness these threads:

Ford Claims to Be a Model He’s Not (pro-life, while voting pro-abortion)

Clinton rallies Ford vote in Memphis

Clinton: Ford represents 'going beyond race'

Did I Hear Right? Did Bill Clinton Actually Campaign for Harold Ford in Tennessee Today?

And of course, all this brou haha, when Ford pretty much UNINVITED John Kerry to appear at a Ford campaign event in 2006.

(Harold)Ford asks Kerry to apologize

I think JC nailed it with these remarks...

...Congressional Black Caucus, saying it was "infested" with "Democratic liberals who betray black people in America."

or this one...

Later that year, Watts stirred controversy when he branded some unnamed black Democrats and civil rights leaders as "race-hustling poverty pimps" whose careers he said depend on keeping blacks dependent on the government.

Ford was speaking on a conservative talk show. Anybody listening to Hannity who’s not familiar with Free Republic might just check it out. What they won’t find is the hateful chatter Ford claimed was here.

Re further FR slagging on Hannity:
I love it! Those of you on this site who have been clinging desperately to the belief that Republicans = Friends are finally being forced to see the truth. One by one, your media heroes betray you, yet still you cling to the antique notion that somehow these millionaire entertainers you worship have something in common with you. News flash: THEY DON’T. They exist on an entirely different level than you. No matter how folksy and “real” they may seem, to people like this, you are just as repugnant and insignificant as the funkiest ghetto drug dealer or hillbilly incest victim.

Ask yourselves: what the hell does Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh or Bill O’Reilly or [insert name of your media god/goddess of choice here] really know about your life? The answer — if you are honest with yourself — is nothing. They are all rich, well-connected, and able to bail out if things go sour. They have no idea what it’s like to live paycheck to paycheck, send their kids to public school, or have a utility cutoff. They are entertainers, clowns pretending to be men and women of wisdom, and it’s time we started laughing at them instead of taking them seriously.

The only way to win the game is to start your own game. I’m not talking about forming some goofball third party — that sort of thing is worse than a waste of time. I’m talking about opting out of the entire national political process. It’s not like anything you say or do will change anything (that “comprehensive immigration reform” bill we all “stopped” a few weeks ago with the help of our Talk Radio Gurus will simply be slipped into law bit by bit instead of in one big block). It’s not like you’re going to get to elect a leader who comes from outside the national business/government/legal power structure (the GOP’s three front-running candidates for President: Giuliani [NYU Law School ‘68], Romney [Harvard Law School ‘75], Thompson [Vanderbilt Law School, ‘67]. Wow! Three lawyers! Who’d’ve thunk it?) It’s not like there’s a gigantic Washington lobbying group pressuring Congress to lookout for the interests of middle-class Christians (only big industries, Boomer retirees and minority groups get that privilege). So, since you’re going to be screwed no matter who you vote into office, quit wasting time with national politics.

Instead, protect what you can: your home, your church, your neighborhood. Buy and improve a house — not a suburban cardboard castle, but an old house in the city, something within walking distance of shops, schools, and services. (After all, gas is never going to get any cheaper, and someday it’ll be too expensive for the average person to afford; better plan for the worst.) Old city houses are cheap and have a low tax burden. Put the money you save on mortgage and taxes into remodeling the property and buying a top-notch security system (including enough firepower to defend your new home.) Then enroll your kids in a private, religious school, the kind where nuns still whack you with a yardstick if you get mouthy.

Then, learn a skill. It can be anything: woodworking, bicycle repair, apiculture, xeriscaping, dog training, graphic design — no matter how insignificant a handicraft may seem, all contain within them some skill of real use to real people.

And read, read, read. Read eveything you can get your hands on, particularly the classics (Aristotle, Augustine, Aquinas, et al) and capital-L Literature (Dickens and Dante yes; Oprah’s Book Club Selection of the Month, no). If you re too dumb or impatient to read the real thing, that’s okay — at least read the Cliff’s Notes. Give yourself and your children the education that you should have gotten, but did not, in school. Listen to real music played on real instruments by real people, not pop schlock or country crap. Eat simple foods made at home from stuff grown in your local area instead of KFC or Taco Bell. Get to know your neighbors by name. Keep an eye on their stuff when they’re not at home. Form a neighborhood patrol (formal or informal) and make note of people you don’t recognize or who seem out of place in your neighborhood. Elect a neighbor to your local city council or village elders or whatever. Attend and make notes at local government meetings. Patronize mom and pop shops in your town instead of going to the mall or Wal-Mart. Grow, preserve, and store food if you can. Raise a chicken or three. Turn off the TV and Talk Radio and THINK for a change — quietly, and at length.

And pray. Pray a lot. It doesn’t matter if you’re a sinner. We all are. The important thing is to recognize the existence of the Almighty and try to conform your will to His. Go to church if you can find one to go to (may we suggest? your friendly local Catholic parish). If you’re not a “churchy” person, don’t worry about worship per se — just go there and turn your mind toward God as best you can. Look at the stained glass, contemplate the Cross or Crucifix, kneel and humble yourself before God however you are able. Teach your kids to believe in God and in the reality of Good and Evil. Fight your instincts to do wrong as they arise, humbly asking God’s help in so doing; when you fail, ask forgiveness and do what you can to repair the damage.

And, when national election time comes around, vote — for the candidate you really think will be best, not the one “that has a chance to win”. If enough people vote their conscience instead of the odds, any candidate can have a chance to win.

Is our system screwed up? Yes — because WE are screwed up. Nations tend to get the governments they deserve; good people —> good government. The best thing we can do to preserve our nation is not to vote or go on protest marches, but to preserve our values, our families, and our communities. If we turn our backs on the con game of politics and turn our energies towards building good people, good families and good neighborhoods, the problem of creating a good country will take care of itself.

The above has been posted by me in one form or another many, many times since 2005. I post it again for the edification our newer readers.
