I'm glib, but I see that all the time.

I just spent time with relatives. Nine-year-old boy. No self-control at all. Terrible, terrible behavior. Here's Mom: "Jack. [pause] Jack. [pause] Jack. [pause]. That's one. That's two. Jack. [pause] Jack. [pause] Jack.[pause]"

He's not a bad kid, but he has no idea what proper behavior is. And over a long weekend visit, his parents never disciplined him at all. No time-outs. No spanking. No loss of TV priviledges. Nothing.

That kid's not going to recognize a consequence if it hits him in the face. And when it does -- and life is all about consequences -- he's just going to say "That's not fair. I'm entitled to better."

This is how Liberals reproduce.

Not only that, but they object if others don’t raise their kids the same way.

"Jack. [pause] Jack. [pause] Jack. [pause]. That's one. That's two. Jack. [pause] Jack. [pause] Jack.[pause]"

I know many of these people and it's usually followed by: "Don't make me get to three!" By that time, I want to smack the parent.

I’m glad you mentioned the Spock movement. That guy was dead wrong about everything!

Since Merv passed away yesterday, I have been remembering my mom’s devotion to that afternoon show, the one with Arthur Treacher as sidekick. Merv interviewed actor James Mason and his actress wife about their kids. The kids called them James and Pamela, so that they wouldn’t be threatened by authority figures. My dear mom went ballistic. Fast forward 20 yrs. and I end up marrying a guy who calls his parents Jim and Rita. Yep. Same ideas.

BTW, my in-laws were schoolteachers and utterly selfish union flunkies. The R word had a “career” long before women’s lib, and so my husband was raised by his very old-fashioned Italian immigrant grandparents. The difference between the generations in that family are astounding. My FIL was a nice guy, but a complete mouse, born without a drop of testosterone. My husband is the exact opposite, and has a real problem with women who are like his mother.
Spock and his contemporaries messed up that family, but good.

I think eventually these kids will blame their parents. And they should.

“This is how Liberals reproduce.”

I guess that explains why they think of children as “burdens” that should be aborted as often as possible.

It also explains why they cannot fathom having more than 2 kids.
