Rewriting The Science (Hansen 2006 article pre Climate-gate scandal +algore ref)

....

"I object to the fact that I’m not able to freely communicate via the media," says Hansen. "National Public Radio wanted to interview me and they were told they would need to interview someone at NASA headquarters and the comment was made that they didn’t want Jim Hansen going on the most liberal media in America. So I don’t think that kind of decision should be made on that kind of basis. I think we should be able to communicate the science."

Politically, Hansen calls himself an independent and he’s had trouble with both parties. He says, from time to time, the Clinton administration wanted to hear warming was worse that it was. But Hansen refused to spin the science that way.

"Should we be simply doing our science and reporting it rigorously, or to what degree the administration in power has the right to assume that you should be a spokesman for the administration?" asks Hansen. "I've tried to be a straight scientist doing the science and reporting it as best I can."

We can't spot the problem two and a half years. We've got to concentrate on changing the country's mind even during this president's term.

Can anyone assist finding a credit which shows Hansen was a special consultant for the movie "inconvenient truth" and I have been unable to find a confirming source that Hansen recieved a $250,000 grant from a foundation headed by Teresa Heinz Kerry. It has been referenced in a some blogs but I can't find it in a direct source. He is not listed on the official movie site or any of the movie fan sites i searched.

This Hansen is the scientist who “accidentally” put 1998 as the hottest year on record.

Nasa tried to dismiss it as a y2k bug HOWEVER a wayback.com search revealed the data has been manipulated a number of times.

"This Hansen is the scientist who “accidentally” put 1998 as the hottest year on record"

But Time magazine this week has a "expose" on global warming deniers and how they are so well financed. I must have missed their expose on people like Al Gore who are getting filthy RICH on the GW hysteria. They even mention Gore as being way ahead of the curve by pointing out GW as early as 1988. I thought global cooling was the fad back then. Since Newsweek exposed the earth cooling in 1975, the earth must have been just the right temperature somewhere in those 13 years.

The fact he was a consultant on “inconvenient truth” (supposedly) and the aleged report about the Kerry 250k donation does call his credibility into question.

Since he was “in charge” I find it VERY hard to believe he did not know 1) about the little y2k glitch IF it even exists and 2) he did not know about the microclimate variations of the thermometer locations throught the USA and 3) EVERYONE has relied on this intentionally erroneous data.

First there came the UN.

Then the UN became corrupted by evil and the desire to control others for their own benefit (socialism).

Then came the idea of controlling production.

Then came the idea of global Industrial Winter.

Then came the idea of Global Warming when the cooling turned around.

Then came the UN Request For Proposals (RFP) for computer models that would show global warming.

Then came the award to the company having the computer model that showed the greatest warming.

Then came the politics between freedom and socialist totaliatarianism.

"That would be Newsweek not Time."

I just realized my error. But it makes the irony even more delicious that THEY reported on the "Cooling Earth" in 1975. I guess they were "well funded" deniers back then.

It’s worse than you think. In 2001 people noticed that NASA (Hansen??) simply re-wrote all of U.S. climate history, to make it more “hockey stick”-like. Dozens of little tweaks resulted in: elimination of pre-1900 warming, decrease in 1930’s temps, and increase in temps in the 1980s and 1990s. Look here: http://www.john-daly.com/press/press-01c.htm#past-usa

and yet the media is covering up the double coverup.

why is Hansen still at Nasa? Anyone excusing him should go too.

...why is Hansen still at Nasa?.... He set himself up as a media darling, partly by praying to the god of global warming, and partly by claiming that he is being "hushed up". The media loves this stuff. Still, I am surprised that NO ONE has picked up on this re-writing of history, especially in the wake of the demise of the "hockey stick".
