Hispanics are hostile but guilt-free on the issue of blacks. Only the whites have enough guilt to be amenable to the extortion practiced by Sharpton and Jackson.

Absolutely, the power is in the guilt.

A little story here, quite possibly too ancient to be wirht considering in 2007 but I’ll tell it anyway.

Summer, 1970, Sunday afternoon in Griffith Park, L.A. at the Merry-Go-Round area. Bunch of white, black, and latino folks into inpromptu weird music and some instruments to make sounds not know to man, LOL......truly NYC ultra-bohemian types, and the spectacle they created was fairly well known and attracted audience members and other merriment makers of all 3 races every weekend.....other smaller parties of unique and mixed groups planted themselves within and without the range of actually hearing this weird stuff at the center of it all.

One sunday afternoon yours truly was there, just wandering about and enjoying the sights and possibilities (this was 5 yrs after WATTS), and I happened to hear and notice this latina on the edge of what was a small bunch of mostly (but not all) blacks in one of the peripheral groups and she was doing her damndest to create a disturbance.....first with her mouth, then slapping and scratching....ONLY black men in the group.....not whites, not latinos, and not the females either........this went on for maybe 5 minutes, but there seemed no reason for her act.......a couple of the black guys she accosted moved away, even, and she didn’t follow, rather just began on the next one......finally she got what she was demanding, somebody cold-cocked her, and the whole place went silent.....and remained so until she got back on her feet and began again. In an instant every latino there was attacking every and any black man or woman......I mean serious....knives, knucks, and some pistols were going off.......it was just plain wild and scary......but whatever was behind it was strictly latino vs black......the white folks simply walked away from it and were not attacked nor did they attack anyone (I am not and was not from LA, so I just followed suit and was quite glad to do so).....people were getting fairly well beat and cut up for about ten minutes of this until 30 or maybe 50 LAPD patrol cars began arriving.

Like I said, I was not a resident of anywhere near.....I had gone there alone just because someone had told me about the music thing and etc, but not what happened from time to time there with no apparent reason......when I got back to the home of the friends with whom I was staying, they had already seen what happened on the teevee and regretted having not told me that what happened was likely at any time in the park at that location, and that there was long-term enmity agressively perpetrated against blacks by latinos, and that it was apt to happen whenever the balance was in the favor of latinos in the right circumstance and location.

This is only ONS short snapshot of Los Angeles, and it is from 37 years ago. But I MUST wonder what is the origin of such racial aggressiveness in socal from latinos toward blacks so long ago? I never was able to get an understanding of it.......but is it possible the recent event that gave rise to this thread might be inherently traced back at least that far in at least SOME way, to something ongoing in that pre-gang (more or less, anyway) era? Something quite separate from the usual white-based excuses/reasons/occurences......I have often wondered about this particular enmity that is rarely spoken of if gangs are not the subject.

Maybe someone could comment?
