The IRFA was disbanded several years ago. The Bushbots who took over in 2000 basically ran out all the real conservatives.
That’s why there were 10,000 FEWER people voting this time than last. That’s why we have gone from 5 to 2 GOP seats in Congress. That’s why we can’t get a serious conservative to get Harkin. That’s why we have lost the Governorship for 3 back to back to back elections.
Yet we carried Bush in 2004. Go figure. The moderate establishment types run the place and there isn’t even civil discourse towards real conservatives.
And the biggest problem is that these moderates pose as true conservatives and have all but rebranded what conservatism means and done so with the liberal methodology of using the politics of personal destruction.
I think it was the Log Cabin and Main Street Republicans that took over in 1997 thru 1999. Not Bushbots in 2000.

That was the Christian Coalition being sued, big money coming in from Lefty sources and conservatives being labeled racists.
Oh, and special thanks to Jim Nicholson:
RNC Chairman Jim Nicholson insisted there is a cause for optimism about GOP relations with minorities. He said their shared legacy, dating back to the partys founding on an anti-slavery platform in 1854, is a foundation on which to build better relations.
In addition, the partys next presidential nominee could help it overcome the legacy of Nixons Southern Strategy with a more moderate message such as compassionate conservatism, a favorite term of Gov. George W. Bush of Texas.
Stepping down from being the VA overload will be the best thing to happen to our hero veterans come October.
