That is MORE per dog than I paid for my first house in Ventura, California! $33,000+ per dog!

At the old kennel facility the dogs slept in cages below their handlers beds. At the new facility each dog has their own kennel and the handlers have their own rooms which improves sanitation conditions.

In a place like Iraq, or your average urban area, I'd rather have my dog in my room, thank you very much. After a patrol, the handlers probably smell worse than the dogs anyway.
