Ron Paul Quietly Converting GOP Believers

By John Fout TheStreet.com Political Correspondent 8/9/2007 12:20 PM EDT

Why haven't conservatives leaders embraced their own ideals and come out to support Ron Paul in public?

I pondered this issue in an article in June. I saw Paul as the one second-tier candidate who might have a chance of a breakout from the pack. It turns out I might have got it right. He has remained the most popular GOP candidate on the Internet. This genuine outpouring of support is rivaled only by that for Barack Obama.

So every instance of supporting American military personnel against those who want to subvert their mission is, in your mind, Dolchstoss?

Yeah yeah, Fred going kick his a$$...

Then make him the best Sec. of Defense ever, that is God calling for Duncan ;-)

We are going to have a party one way or the other because we will win in 08, I just feel it.

We’ll bring the drinks, you guys in Duncan’s camp can bring the eats and Paul’s folks can bring the nuts and fruitcakes...

This John Fout is a funny guy. Like a sales person, he goes for a long speech, and then tries to close the deal with this :

”So why not take a chance on Ron Paul? Even if you can't win, at least conservatives would feel good that they did the right thing by cleaning house."

Nice try!

Speaking of books...you might want to read the 9/11 Commission Report. Maybe Ron Paul and his supporters have forgotten the fact that Bin Laden and other jihadists bragged that the Beirut and Somalia retreats inspired them, but I haven’t. IMHO, Ron Paul can GTH if he wants us to retreat again.

The Chicago Tribune recently reported that Students for a Demonratic Society was re-created in 2006 and now has 300 chapters. The organizers said that they were fed up with the frustration of being involved in the antiwar movement and wanted to have a wider range os issues.

This explains where the paleopantywaist Internet support is coming from. Making mischief in the GOP is a new SDS issue so long a they can act anonymously and still vote for full bore Commie candidates in the caucuses and primaries.

It took only 16 years for us to go from Planned Barrenhood Goldwater to the election of Ronaldus Maximus, the driving of the libertoonian money changers from the GOP temple and eight years of sanity. Certainly, if we were stupid enough to nominate an antiwar antiAmerican loon like paleoPaulie, he would make Goldwater in 1964 look like a political powerhouse (a regular 1936 FDR). Does anyone think that the GOP would have to simply settle for a mere sixteen years (8 of Mrs. Arkansas Antichrist followed by 8 of Chelsea!!!) or that it would be more likely that the Clintons would have canceled the formality of elections by then????

Actual conservatives are not about to “fear” paleoPaulie but we will crush his antiwar antiAmerican candidacy as soon as the actual voting starts. Truthers, Birchers and pro-Al Qaeda types are NOT going to inherit the GOP. Say goodbye now to the wannabe king of federally subsidized pseudoconstitutional Galveston pork.

Al Qaeda and the college left sure can make those buses roll so long as a candidate wants his country defeated badly enough.

Because he's a wack-job on foreign policy. I'll bet good money Ron Paul is an isolationist.
