Just reported by Carl Cameron on Fox News. This likely means New Hampshire will be held January 8th, with a possible Iowa caucus January 7th or even in December.

Iowa has decided to hold the Iowa Caucuses this Friday. South Carolina is currently working on legislation to move their primary to tomorrow and NH is discussing moving their primary tonight. In a bizarre move, California has announced that the governor has signed an executive order declaring that its primary was actually held last week, though there's no word on who won.
why don’t all the states have it on the same day? that way no one state has more influence than another. No need to mountainous crushing ads on the airways to build momentum. either their message is out there or not. Is this system supposed to benefit the underdog?
But of course, I am of the opinion that congress should be closed and they vote from their home state via secure internet. Let’s face it, sometimes congressman give speeches to and empty gallery, so why bother with the electricity payment?

Ridiculous. I can’t stand Keith Olbermann but he asked a great question last night in the afl/cio debate forum in Chicago..”How do you feel about the fact that the day your administration takes office in Jan 09, a new campaign will begin to replace you immediately.”
It was a great question because it is so true. But not one person on that stage wanted to blame the media’s boredom and hatred of the current President. They just said that American’s are eager to get rid of Bush now more than ever.

Because every state wants to feel special. I mean how many times in a 4 year span do people care about what goes on in Iowa, New Hampshire, or South Carolina? Nothing against those great states...just the fact that they are rarely in the national spotlight for anything other than primary days like this.

At the rate this oneupmanship is going, folks will announce on Nov 12, 2008. Debates will commence around July 1, 2009 and the first primaries will be held in early 2010.

Fred will be announcing the official start of his candidacy in early September (probably the 5th). Calendar creep should have no effect on that.

I gotta admit..I am shocked at how McCain still has 16% in the polls. Hopefully he will be dead broke by the end of this month and we can thin the herd. I want to see where that 16% breaks off to. My current guess is 9% to Romney 2% to Rudy and 5% to Fred Thompson knowing the make up of the current McCain voter.
