Where politics and politicians are concerned, I believe that cynicism should always be the order of the day. Politics is the world of the possible, not the best possible world.
The way I see it, whoever runs against Hillary Clinton deserves to win. So far as I'm concerned, those Republicans who threaten to stay home on Election Day in 2008 if their personal favorite isn't the nominee, just so they can self-righteously claim they didn't violate their principles, are beneath contempt. Cutting off your nose to spite America is not commendable. It's my conviction that anyone who permits this country to be saddled with a left-wing Medusa surrenders all claims of moral superiority.
In short, I am not one of those people who would care to have engraved on his tombstone: Here Lies Burt Prelutsky Who Never Voted for the Lesser of Two Evils.

Just because they might have an R after their name doesn’t make them better than Hillary in the long run. They can be just as dangerous for different reasons.
I can’t vote for either of those R’s. And Hillary, don't make me puke...

He won't be, and if he were, she would slaughter him. Al Gore isn't even going to run and he gets 11% in many Dem polls; Paul is running and gets numbers in the margin of error.
If I have to chose between two idiot appeasers, I'd vote for Paul. Fortunately, I'll never have to make that choice.
Rudy Giuliani is a New York style authoritarian with strong liberal tendencies. Hillary Clinton is a New York style liberal with strong authoritarian tendencies. You don’t have to be a right wing fringer to not see much difference between the two as some suggest.
If Republicans hold onto power while sacrificing any remaining values, they will be no more than Democrats. Conservative voice and thought will be marginalized for a generation at least.
Voting for Giuliani may well be the greater of two evils.
While you have a choice, in the primary vote for the conservative you like the most. Don’t vote in the primary for someone you think can beat Hillary. The Anyone But Hillary sentiment runs strong in this country, even among Democrats. If you vote in the primary with the general election in view, you wind up in the situation we have in Caulifornia, with a p****whipped RINO chief executive who can get the liberal agenda passed because he’s a movie star and has no opposition.
“Politics is the art of the possible” so the saying goes.
The “building of coalitions” so someone can get over 50 percent of the vote and win an election.
Which puts ideas held by a minority of what is defined as “public opinion” by pollsters as off limits for policy once someone is elected president.
Once we send someone to the White House their obssession will be keeping their personal popularity up to support any policies they choose to pursue.

Why do we hear about a case of UN officials helping illegals enter the United States this week?
To create the impression something is being done about illegal immigration while avoiding the Mexican border problem and bashing the UN (appeasing conservative opinion).
Back in the 1960’s JFK had to hold back Martin Luther King in the name of not going too far and losing popularity points.
The trip to Berlin and his “Ich bin ein Berliner” speech was designed to divert public attention away from the racial conflict simmering after the Birmingham protests led by King in May 1963.
That’s how the big boys in politics like presidents operate.
They play all sides and manipulate them like a fiddle. The objective is to increase personal popularity to support the presidents policies.
Bill Clinton called the “mainstream media” the “liberal media” just like we do and he knew what to say and do to get their support.
Its ugly but true and whether their name is Rudy or Fred or any other big fish I see in the water right now that’s how I expect them to “lead” as president.
So I stay uncommitted looking for someone better but realizing this is what I might end up with voting for.
A candidate who acts just like that because that’s the “way its done.”
Essentially anyone who gets elected has to play to their base at some point. Even if these two were interchangeable in their ideologies, which they are not, we’d still be better off with a President whose ‘base’ is us and not the left. I’m not saying Rudy is my top choice, or that he’s the best candidate, but if it’s him vs. her there’s no question in my mind what lever to pull.
Guiliana can’t be the greater of two evils for this reason...the WOT. They (Hillary and Guiliani) are polar opposites when it comes to that, and for that reason, I would vote McCain or Guiliani over Hillary...but for that reason alone...the rest of what they stand for “stinks.”
Agreed, I don’t think there’s any chance of that.
I think McCain is done as well.
So the vote should be easy.

Guiliani is a clone of Clinton ("My views on most things are the same as Mrs Clinton's"), so anyone who votes for him is stupid.

And Prelutsky is right this time. We stay home and pout? Mrs. Bill Clinton gets to be president. It’s “hold your nose and vote” time, guys. My personal preference would be Duncan Hunter, but if he can’t get the nomination, then whoever gets it gets my vote. I can say that a little easier now since McCain has obviously imploded. And while we are at it, I believe we have to get rid of the Republicans in Congress who fought for and voted for the amnesty bill. We really have our work cut out for us.
