Gingrich calls Sen. Clinton a ‘formidable professional’

It fell shy of an endorsement, to be sure, but former House Speaker Newt Gingrich lauded Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, saying those who think the New York senator can’t run the White House are “just wrong.”

"For its first female President, America deserves better than Hillary Rodham Clinton."

If we must have a woman President, then I agree we do deserve better. It's a shame that the most corrupt political family in the history of this country are giving us the first woman President who appears to be capable of being a despot. It's really ashame. But I still don't think it is a given that we NEED to have a woman President. I believe it would only be needed if absolutely necessary, like all the good men weren't around. In other words, I would rather have a male president. I like living in a Patriarchal Society. We wouldn't really do as well if it were the other way around. With a woman President, you are more likely to get a Hillary Clinton then a Margret Thatcher. It's just the nature of the beast. It's my opinion, and you don't have to agree, it's ok.

“Newt is cautioning against such over confidence”

I agree with you that was what he meant, although it didn’t seem that way at first. I just wish Rudy wasn’t in the race. I wish one of the more traditional Republicans could get the support that Rudy seems to be getting. I don’t see Rudy being able to beat Hillary. He has too much baggage. He sounds very smart, I agree, but I just don’t like it that he’s not traditional. I would rather have a hero like Ronald Reagan. If Rudy wasn’t so powerful right now, maybe one of the more traditional people would move into that role. That’s the part that irritates me, because I know one of them could, but they aren’t being given the opportunity thanks to the foolish appeal of Rudy.

Currently, in the political world, HClinton is a winner and DHunter is a loser, as much as I wish it was the opposite.

Smells like MSM to me... They’re the ones giving her all this nauseating exposure. They have as much responsibility for ruining the political world as the goofy politicians themselves.

I watched it and he nailed it over and over again. I agree with you. I’ve never been a Newt-bot, but he was so right about so many things when he spoke to the Press Club.

Heads up Freepers: the Dems and Pubblies are on the same team; they just scrimmage in public to make y’all think there’s actually debate going on in D.C. After 8 years of Bush spending like a gay drunken sailor on leave in Frisco, you bet your ass there’s going to be a Dem “elected” in 08 to raise taxes to pay for it all.

Get ready for an endless 50 state recount reminiscent of Florida. I see that one coming too.

Hes correct.. Any that think Hitlery and Obama(Veep) plus Bubba as first gentleman are not a MAJOR threat are in deep denial and delusion.. Saw Newt at the National Press Club.. he was right on in everything he said.. literally everything..

America is not ready for Newt... YET.. It will take a Nuke in an American city first..
However Thompson looks like and can probably ACT like a President..
Fred is no where as smart as Newt.. or even Hitlery.. Duncan is too honest..

Hitlery is Capo of the democrats.. a mobster.. Democracy is indeed Mob Rule..
Laughing at her is stupid..

You've got to wake up. Yes, the MSM actively works for the liberals, but they don't inhabit the minds and bodies of Americans and pull voting levers or answer polls for them. Even if the MSM sets up the situation, the voters could reject it, but they don't, they buy the lemon that the MSM sells them. Problem is, they never find out its a lemon. The MSM still lauds Clinton as 'one of the best presidents ever'. Perception IS reality in politics and history.

In order for DHunter's campaign to be successful, according to your logic, he'd have to first slay the MSM, and then he'd have a chance.

Even though one can chip away at it bit by bit, you must generally treat the MSM as a fixed quantity.

Huh? I don't get that from anyone. Just the opposite, that Hillary is a formidable politician.

Of course, she'd be h@## to work for, even if you shared her politics.

“Yes, the MSM actively works for the liberals, but they don’t inhabit the minds and bodies of Americans and pull voting levers or answer polls for them.”

Therein lies my hope. Someday, enough of us will wake up, in spite of the MSM. Unfortunately, things might have to get a heck of a lot worse for the average American to wake up. Average America needs a cerebral crash cart.

Get out of the beltway, Beltway Newt. Hillary is the most disgusting woman in the history of The United States of America. We will have a woman president one day. She will come from a background in the armed forces and will probably do a stint as a governor, senator or house member. Hillary as CIC? Close but no cigar.

Why is everyone jumping on a headline and first sentence, which represents an opinion of the liberal author of the far left Cox News Service Austin America Statesman’s newspaper blog (though there is little difference today between these and supposedly “mainstream” media)?

Here’s what Newt actually said (from couple of paragraphs down, not the opinion of Bob Deans) :
“Senator Clinton is a very formidable professional. She works very hard. She has thought a long time about this,” Gingrich told reporters at the National Press Club. “The suggestion that she would not be capable of this is just wrong.”

Does that sound like an “endorsement” to anybody? I think it’s pretty obvious and timely warning from Newt to the base not to take Hillary lightly as a candidate. He is the only one talking about real issues, real problems and real [conservative] solutions... while others are trying to pretend that while “they are not Ronald Reagan” they are closest of the field to Ronald Reagan and ready to assume his mantle.

I am not a Newtbot, but he has yet to disappoint me this election cycle, though accounts, which have no resemblance to the truth, of what he SUPPOSEDLY said or done by the media and many on FR, do. It sounds like any article ABOUT him and what he “said”, needs a translator.

Next thing you know, he will say that “Medicare will wither on the vine”... [feeble attempt at humor on my part here].

Brilliant people are often either misunderstood or sabotaged by spreading falsehoods and innuendos. I believe the left knows who presents the biggest problems for them and does its best to destroy them early and often, while sugarcoating and presenting us with false choices the way they had done with current crop of GOP “frontrunners”. Why so many of us keep falling for it and don’t look and think deeper, I don’t know.

rodeo-mamma, I wasn't arguing that the U.S. needs a female President; rather, I was arguing that if we're going to have a female President, it most certainly ought not to be Hillary Clinton. And I was especially emphasizing how unseemly it would be if Hillary Clinton became the very first female President, thus securing for her a place in history that ought to go to someone far more talented and of much finer character.
