Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul began running television campaign ads Tuesday in Iowa.
The spots for the Texas congressman began just days before a straw poll in the first presidential nominating state.
The 30-second ads will be in rotation in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Sioux City.
Campaign spokesman Jesse Benton declined to reveal the cost.
The ad features Paul speaking to a crowd of supporters while an announcer repeats the Texan's fiscally conservative campaign themes.
Various statements flash across the screen, including "Stop the national I.D. Card."
Benton said the ad, the first of two for TV, will be accompanied by similar radio spots.
Not sure of the technicalities with ‘earmarks’ and how they are applied/granted etc. but he has always said that as long as they are part of the legislative strategy—he will forward any constitutient request without favor or prejudice.
It is not inconsistent with a libertarian philosophy to allow his voters access to the same trough from which others feed.
He is the only one who submitted a declaration of War.
His position is declare war and fight it like you mean it.
Bush has lost this War by letting media lies go unchallenged.
I am a Veteran, it is my DUTY to support Ron paul. I take my oath seriously.
Good thing there's a cadre of operatives keeping the web properly indoctrinated on all things Paul. Otherwise we might, you know, have a trend back toward constitutional government or something.
And on Sunday's debate, Ru Paul cried to cut and run.
Interesting.
Bump for that trend...
I am a VETERAN too and it is my duty not to let him anywhere near the keys to the whitehouse.
“It is not inconsistent with a libertarian philosophy to allow his voters access to the same trough from which others feed.”
It is however inconsistent with a candidate who claims to be the staunchest defender of the Constitution. Either Paul belives these are un-Constitutional or not. If he thinks they are un-Constitutional, then he shouldn’t foward these earmarks.
Thanks to the generous donations of supporters around the country, the campaign has purchased 500 red tickets and will make them available at no charge to eligible Iowan residents who have yet to purchase a ticket for the straw poll. In addition to voting, this red ticket will allow access to the Hilton Coliseum where the candidate speeches will be delivered. In addition, the grassroots raised $10,000 for tickets and then a CA lawyer offered to buy up to $5,000 in tickets, totaling another 428 tickets on top of these 500 the campaign already bought. Although some lib idiots like NPR keep saying the tickets are only $25 (the 1999 price), they're $35 each.
Subject to the provisions below, these tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis to those of you currently without tickets. Please contact our field coordinator, Heather Olson, at heather@ronpaul2008.com and you will receive a voucher for a ticket that can be picked up at the straw poll.

Do you have any idea why Paul would begin ads a few days in advance of the Straw Poll?..... Seems that money would be better spent in getting the tickets and giving them to supports who would attend and vote in the poll..... And or the event you mentioned on I believe it was Fri. night.
You can't stop the bum rush. Paul has a burgeoning group of supporters and he's raised more money than all of other GOP candidates besides Rudy McRomney & Fred, and Fred technically isn't a candidate yet. Paul's campaign has zero debt.
Like it or not, people don't want to see a long-term committment in Iraq. Bush has let the liberals frame the debate, from Abu Ghurab to Gitmo to prosecuting our Marines over BS allegations.
We need Paul & his supporters. Please, stop bashing the man, disagree with his call for an immediate withdrawal but there's no need to trash him. Paul brings a crucial voting bloc back to the GOP who haven't voted GOP since probably 1984 for Reagan. Unless Fred is the nominee, they're not going to vote for the GOP nominee.
Obviously you have a very dim understanding of what is going on around you.
Ron Paul gave Rudy a reading assignment, perhaps you should educate yourself with the reading assignment as well.
See my #28.
Then you do *not* understand your oath.
That’s a fact.
Thank you for your service.
Thank you for your service too.
How do you suppose he's going to vote on them?
Thanks..... I see then he is buying tickets. That’s the way to go I think. What the public thinks/feels means nothing if they aren’t there at the straw poll to vote. Now come Caucus time in Jan that is a different situation. Have fun and hope you enjoy the event.
Weren’t some examples previously posted that contradict his position of being a constitutionalist?
If so, someone please remind me.
