SEATTLE (AP) - Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) (MSFT)'s Xbox 360 video game console will be $50 cheaper starting Wednesday, confirming fuzzy snapshots of leaked advertisements posted by bloggers in late July.
The company said its most popular console, which comes with a 20-gigabyte hard drive, will cost $349.
A basic console without a hard drive or wireless controllers will retail for $279, $20 less than its current price, while the Xbox 360 Elite, a black version with a 120-gigabyte hard drive and high-definition video support, will drop $50 to $449.

This is seriously going to interfere with my gun and ammo collection (again).
My last X-Box craze (X-box and new Sony TV) cost me about $900, which is about the cost of a new AR-15 or a new suppressor.
lol. That's good too. It's funny, I meet so many of them in the service industry, in their 20s. Chock full of attitude. I suppose they got out of school and felt they deserved high level salaries, and then poof went that illusion when they end up stuck behind a bar serving drinks.
Actually, Playstation 3 is much more than a videogame console. It is an awesome networked media center for a home theather system. I can run my entire home theater through it - games, blu ray movies, music, photos. The controllers work through walls, networking is solid. I’m very happy with the unit.
