Vapor trails being lighted by the setting sun. Very beautiful picture. Trick here is to be up there and in the correct position with respect to the tanker and setting sun. Takes more than a Piper Cub or Bell 47 helicopter to get this shot!
Wow! Those tanker pictures brought back a lot of old memories. It seems so “everyday” for the crews now, but there will come a day when all they see is the view from the “Roost.”

Global Refueling
Based on the trail from the boom, then they are pushing the last bit out of the boom before retraction. I had the opportunity to see an EC-135 land that could not retract the boom. They were near dry anyway but even with that when they finally had to land with the boom extended about 150 feet the flames and smoke coming from the dragging boom were impressive. The pilot had the aircraft at a stop halfway down the runway and the flight crew and ALCC crew gave us all a flawless example of a record time evacuation of an aircraft.
I have a buddy who is completely convinced of Chemtrails. Won’t stop talking about it, He even points out what clouds are real and which ones are the Mysterious Chemtrails. The big mystery is what exactly are they composed of and what is their purpose. Apparently there are many theories.
Oh yea, We all think he’s nut and he thinks were all ignorant.
