Is it possible that the New York Times could still be indicted for revealing the existence of the NSAs Terrorist Surveillance Program in a December 2005 front-page story?
Shortly after the revelation appeared, a federal grand jury was empaneled to investigate the leak. A range of government officials, including Jane Harmon, then the ranking Democrat of the House Intelligence Committee, pointed to the severe damage that the Times story did to our efforts to intercept al-Qaeda communications and thwart a second September 11. Shortly thereafter, President Bush called the newspapers conduct shameful.
I agreed with these assessments. In fact, I argued in March 2006 that the New York Times had also broken the black-letter law. It had breached the provisions of Section 798 of Title 18, which make it a crime to publish classified information concerning the interception of communications intelligence. Shortly thereafter, Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez hinted that, in light of several statutes on the books, the New York Timess conduct was under the review of his department.

Answer: Nothing.
Question: What will happen?
The right has a history of repeatedly forming circular firing squads. They never stick with their people and “they’re all the same” despair always sets in to destroy them and empower the left. We are our own worst enemies. No the NY Times will never have to be responsible for their actions and the right will be demonized for ever suggesting such a thing.
I would love to see the front doors of that worthless rag padlocked and a huge “for sale” sign the door
I’m betting no indictment of the MSM. However, were I a leaker of classified info, I’d be very concerned.

“May I have ‘Liberals can get away with anything’ for $200 please, Alex?
Suddenly...without warning...nothing happened.
Pinching Pinch ping.....

rhombus nailed the reality here.
This is pure speculation, “There were probably closed door deals to protect the left wing mediot traitors of past sins to get the recent Intel bill passed.”
It wouldn't surprise me. I also suspect there were plenty of deals cut to prosecute war... which allowed the previous Congress to "spend like drunken sailors" as the platitude goes. Unfortunately that's the reality of representative democracy.
Unfortunately both of us are probably correct.
It had to be done to protect us and our warriors. Often when the rats whine and moan, they are really saying show me more money and I will vote for what is right.
Yeah. It’s not a black and white world. You have to pick your priorities and cut deals. Everybody hates it but it’s how things really get done because no two people are in complete agreement on every issue.
