Goose Creek - Two men are being held in the Berkeley County Detention Center after police find explosive making devices in their car. The quantity of explosive making materials in that vehicle is unclear. The FBI (website) reports that there is no known link to terrorism. The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office believes that among materials in the car's trunk were a bomb and bomb making materials that include chemicals, fuses, and igniters.
The men 21-year-old Yousef Megahed and 24-year-old Ahmed Mohamed were pulled over Saturday evening during a routine traffic stop near Myers Road and Highway 176. Few details about the suspects are known at this time. They are believed to be students at a Florida college. They are of Middle Eastern descent and are not US citizens. Neither man has been charged, but charges are expected Monday. A press conference will be held in Berkeley County on Monday morning. Possession of unlawful explosives is among the potential charges. Officials are not at this time releasing any additional information. The Berkeley County Sheriff's office may confirm what exactly was found in that trunk during Monday's press conference.

Hale no. Skrew CAIR.
At the very least, could not bomb-making matierials be viewed as a 'link' to terror?
J Edgar was a strange duck, but he knew how to run an organization !
Thanks for the ping!
That's what they're telling us.....and I find it more than repulsive.
Sheesh. Ain't that the truth. Let's just keep importing more of the people who want to kill us.
There are times I wonder if that is their intent.
Hmm. Maybe they’d rather have the oil money with us peons out of the way. It’s crazy for sure, so I just don’t know.
If it makes no logical sense to keep borders wide open for 6 years post 9/11, with full knowledge that terrorists have been and continue to be caught coming through same, increased and expedited numbers for populations to emigrate here from arab countries, post 9/11, terrorist cells being caught here, post 9/11....then, the government is either insane in its actions, or intentional in its actions. I do not believe it is done by joint insanity, and ignorance must be ruled out, as they have too much “intelligence” to claim that. (Though I use “intelligence” mockingly.)
Thanks for the ping.

Bush & Chenoff & Gonzales
Talk about keeping the Muzzies from getting upset
I agree.
USF is also the school where our good friend Sami Al Arian used to teach.
Not even one.
As kids, we made little volcanoes of saltpeter and sugar, and I still fire off an Estes rocket every now and then-- But I don't trust this situation one bit.
I now understand why Al Qaeda crashed TWO planes into the WTC.
If they had only crashed one, the FBI would have told us "No known link to terror."
Bush is fighting the valant battle!!
By leaving the back door wide open to one million unaccounted-for people each year?
I don’t need a history lesson, thanks for posting that anyway. It’s a shame you have come here to call people sheep who are so far from that.
I know things really started in 1979 and that the peanut farmer should have taken some action. I was very young at the time but thought so then. Bush seemed to be the first one to take things seriously enough to do something about that region, and I was grateful... until I realized how much else he was leaving out. And all the excuses of “wait until he wins the second term,” “wait until he has more time,” “wait until so and so wins to support him,” blah blah rang hollow.
Why bloviate if you aren’t going to follow up on things at home (the borders) and run a PC war? He’s breaking the oath of office he swore to uphold

YOU DO NEED A HISTORY LESSON. Bush does not write the laws, congress does. Congress under the current Democratic leadership has accomplished zero from both houses and has a 3% approval rating according to polls. Makes Bush 35% look has grandslam home run.
Whiners, and complainers I stay away from.
“In this life, there are those who “talk” and those who “do.” The men and women who are willing to stand up and fight for their fellow citizens are the greatest of the doers. They don’t achieve the fame of celebrities, but they achieve greatness, nonetheless. They give their hearts, souls, blood and, sometimes, their lives. They deserve only our respect and undying gratitude.”

“War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling, which thinks that nothing is worth war, is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.”
John Stuart Mill (1868)
“In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility—I welcome it.”
President John Fitzgerald Kennedy

The reason, You said nothing of value.
Likewise, when the FBI says "no known links to terrorism" it's not saying that these guys were just going fishing. It's saying that they have not previously appeared on the law enforcement radar screen.
That is all.
Critical faculties and logic simply freeze when most of you see the words "Middle East".
Oh, and you are such an intellect. Not. You don’t know your history or simply conveniently left out Bush’s GOP Congress prior to last year. Whoops.
