Domestic Terror in Iran

Iran has just carried out the largest wave of executions since 1984.

It is early dawn as seven young men are led to the gallows amid shouts of "Allah Akbar" (Allah is the greatest) from a crowd of bearded men as a handful of women, all in hijab, ululate to a high pitch. A few minutes later, the seven are hanged as a mullah shouts: "Alhamd li-Allah" (Praise be to Allah).

The scene was Wednesday in Mashad, Iran's second most populous city, where a crackdown against "anti-Islam hooligans" has been under way for weeks.

The Mashad hangings, broadcast live on local television, are among a series of public executions ordered by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad last month as part of a campaign to terrorize an increasingly restive population. Over the past six weeks, at least 118 people have been executed, including four who were stoned to death. According to Saeed Mortazavi, the chief Islamic prosecutor, at least 150 more people, including five women, are scheduled to be hanged or stoned to death in the coming weeks.

Why hang or stone them? It’d be cheaper to have them all in a footwash with a plugged in toaster.

Well, the publiciity - non the hangings themselves - is good. The more the radical ragheads show of more and more dissent, it is actually advertising its own internal dissent, the very thing the head ragheads want to quell. It will spread...the CIA, if it had any cajones any more, should be funding the dissenting groups/individuals.

I believe in public executions. The crime rate in this country would drop dramatically.

[ It is also about a growing popular movement that may help bring the nation out of the dangerous impasse created by the mullahs.]

Hopefully this would be the Second Iranian Revolution, the first one—full of hope for democratic reforms—deposing the Shah; the second one, finally achieving those hopes by removing the constipated mullahs.

An ironic historical tidbit:

Reza Pahlavi (the father of the last Shah) attempted to make Iran (Persia) a secular republic already in 1923.
However it was the Mullahs (Ayatollah Modarres) who feared a republic and propagated against it. Fearing a civil war, Reza Khan (then Prime Minister) dropped the Republic idea and became the first Pahlavi Shah.

The same constipated mullahs who prevented a modern Republic in favor of Monarchy decades lated screamed abuse against the monarchy and created the islamofascist “republic”.

Today Ayatollah Modarres (who got his dirt-nap courtesy of Reza Shah) is made immortal by an Highway in Tehran and his mug on Iranian bank notes.

The time is really ripe for aiding the Iranians in bringing about the demise of this regime.

I just hope the Administration is paying attention
