Trutheriness and Ron Paul (Michelle Malkin) [Ron Paul Says The Darnedest Things!]
Michelle Malkin ^ | May 19, 2007 | Michelle Malkin

CALLER: I want a complete, impartial, and totally independent investigation of the events of September 11, 2001 . I’m tired of this bogus garbage about terrorism. Ask Michael Meacher about how he feels about this bogus war on terrorism. Can you comment on that please?

HON. DR. RON PAUL: Well, that would be nice to have. Unfortunately, we don’t have that in place. IT WILL BE A LITTLE BIT BETTER NOW WITH THE DEMOCRATS NOW IN CHARGE OF OVERSIGHT. But you know, for top level policy there’s not a whole lot of difference between the two policies so a real investigation isn’t going to happen. But I think we have to keep pushing for it. And like you and others, we see the investigations that have been done so far as more or less cover-up and no real explanation of what went on.

..become the next Commander-in-Chief ..

I had to read that part twice. Not just the nomination, but actually becoming the next POTUS!

Also extremely strange that Romney has the same odds. IMO, Romney couldn't win the general, but Paul could.

"..he has been on TV a lot.."

There is a half page ad in our newspaper this evening. Looks very good. Claims that Paul is on top for receiving donations from military.

See, maybe those interviews with Alex Jones will turn out to be a good thing after all.

"..Paul-bashers are googling themselves into a frenzy.."

LOL!

"Also note that McCain and Guiliani’s people are there in droves to ensure the long shot candidates do well which will further embarrass Romney."

Spoken like a true kindergartner. Who besides yourself would ever believe such a theory?

"Politics is all a game."

It may seem like a game at first glance, but with all the power and money at stake, it is not played as a game.

That's probably the one designed and paid for by our volunteers. It's been running a couple days already. It's the full-color one, yah?

New tidbit:

image

Ron Paul Now has 30,000 Registered Volunteers

Last week, the National Expositor revealed the Paul camp had more than 20,000 registered volunteers. Today, on the Dale Williams Radio show, Jesse Benton, director of communications for Dr. Paul’s Campaign stated there are now more than 30,000 registered volunteers. In less than one week the Paul Campaign has added an additional 10,000 volunteers.  This extraordinary ground swell of support has never been seen in a U.S. Presidential election. No other presidential candidate even comes close to that number of volunteers. The main stream media is showing a clear bias by ignoring this amount of support.

Looks like RP is doing something right.

OK, now I get what you meant. It’s a GOP debate, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t point out the proven miserable track record of left wing Communism and Socialism wherever it has been tried. Marxism sounds great in theory, but it has never worked wherever it has been tried...Soviet Union, Cuba, China, Vietnam, NY, NJ, CA...

I think Ron Paul is smart enough to understand that he has a unique opportunity to talk about libertarian/constitutionalist issues on national TV in the GOP debates. (He’s obviously smart, he graduated from Med School whereas I failed out of pre-med...those darn Chemistry and Biology classes were a roadblock in my path to glory).

He has 25 second nationally televised snippets in which he can either advance the movement or confirm the stereotype that libertarians are just a bunch of loons who advocate anarchy and set it back 90 years.

I have nothing else of importance to say here, but I just didn’t want the thread to end with post 666.

Claims that Paul is on top for receiving donations from military. That claim has already been debunked here on FR.

He leads the second tier in cash-on-hand. He was able to get 1,200 people out to the Hy-Vee (has any candidate done something that big on their own, not at an RPI event?). His home base in Texas isn’t that far of a drive, and his people are motivated enough to come in from out of state for him. And he’s making a big push on his Web site, which for all intents and purposes, is his campaign.

Romney, given his dominant position organizationally in Iowa, should still win. Even with the rest of the top tier not participating, he won’t be able to let his guard down, lest he be ambushed by one of the second tier. Should Romney underperform against someone not even playing at Ames, or against someone not taken seriously, that’s a blow to his Iowa inevitability.

Does Paul placing a close second make the straw poll and its winner into a laughingstock? Do benched McCain or Giuliani supporters direct people to vote for Paul to ensure that outcome? Or does this portend something bigger? I see that Ron Paul is up to 3% in the Gallup poll, above Huckabee and Brownback. He won’t come close to winning, but can he aggregate whatever Bilderburger and Trilateral Commission-phobic votes there are in his corner, in the same way that Lyndon LaRouche could get 15% in a Democratic primary against Bill Clinton?

If you had to take one of the hands, I think most would pick Romney’s cards. Patrick’s worries below about Ron Paul’s supporters picking up the “strategic” votes of the disappearing McCain effort etc overthinks the situation in Iowa, and the tide of the early contests generally. Winning is winning, and if Romney wins in either Iowa or New Hampshire, he’s the conservative to beat in Florida. Beat him in both and he’s almost certainly done. But a silver medal for Ron Paul in Iowa is about as significant as the innards of a pigeon.

You keep dreaming though. The Ron Paul threads here are too much entertainment for you to embrace reality now.

Check out #235, where I exposed Malkin's own record of writing Truther articles. Side-by-side comparison of her own column compared to the worst Truther sites.

Malkin is a joke. I think she attacked RP to try to make people think he's a Truther just to make people forget what a Truther she was. She's been exposed several times lying about him and been forced to retract and apologize, something the Paul-trolls around here already know. They like quoting her debunked accusations, never acknowledge that she herself has retracted and apologized for them.

No, it's been confirmed here at FR by counting donors. And by the Paul-bashers themselves.

You have a problem with facts that you don't like, I notice.

Don’t yank the line to hard, you might lose him, just play him nice and slow, and use the net when you got him close.

Looks like RP is doing something right.

Howard Dean had a lot of motivated moonbats volunteering for his campaign as well.

Still didn't change the fact that he (like Paul) was a not-ready-for-prime-time nutbar.

We'll see after Ames and through the fall. Once the rest of the second-tier is knocked out, RP will pick up a portion of their supporters.

With Hitlery locking up the Dim nomination so early, it will change the outcomes in the GOP primaries as well.

Yeaaahhh! The Chuck Hagel block is gonna put Ron Paul over the top!

I hate to tell you this, but the folks currently supporting the top four candidates are not going to be inclined to support an antiwar, pro-shrimp candidate. After the top four, there ain't a lot left. The anti-war pubbie block will be hard-pressed to achieve high single-digits.
