CALLER: I want a complete, impartial, and totally independent investigation of the events of September 11, 2001 . Im tired of this bogus garbage about terrorism. Ask Michael Meacher about how he feels about this bogus war on terrorism. Can you comment on that please?
HON. DR. RON PAUL: Well, that would be nice to have. Unfortunately, we dont have that in place. IT WILL BE A LITTLE BIT BETTER NOW WITH THE DEMOCRATS NOW IN CHARGE OF OVERSIGHT. But you know, for top level policy theres not a whole lot of difference between the two policies so a real investigation isnt going to happen. But I think we have to keep pushing for it. And like you and others, we see the investigations that have been done so far as more or less cover-up and no real explanation of what went on.

Even when Bush fumbles with words his meaning is clear. Everytime Ron Paul opens his mouth he is misunderstood according to his supporters.
If either Clinton were in office, heads would have already rolled.
Go suck eggs. Truthers are about the worst slime that infests internet politics.
There are so many questions. But I am becoming even more troubled by those who post on FreeRepublic who demand 100 per cent belief in the Commission’s story.
All very good points, but his penchant for courting truthers still bugs me very deeply. As I said before, either he is truther at heart or he is just feeding their conspiracy theories (without actually coming out and endorsing them) to get their votes. Either way, that says enough about his character for me to avoid him like the plague. Which is too bad, because I used to think he was generally right, if not a bit misguided and idealistic. Believe me, I've had it with the GOP since they have decided to abandon nearly every conservative principle.
That is tacky and uncalled-for. Maeve has been nothing but polite in the face of amazing rudeness.
No thank you. I prefer eggs scrambled.
There are many idiots in the world who KNOW they are smart.
R/D doesn’t equal BAD/GOOD.
Look at peoples voting records. Rhetoric is all fine and dandy but is worthless if it doesn’t carry through in actions. Not one politician can be called completely honest; but as far as politicians go RP is the one with the most consistent constitutional based voting record AND rhetoric. Whether or not he does or doesn’t (or appeared next to someone who does/doesn’t) believe “conspiracy x” is irrelavent to his bid for POTUS. The ONLY thing that matters is this: Will “candidate x” uphold his oath of office to protect and serve the Constitution for the United States of America. That isn’t something I’ve seen in any other candidate’s voting record.
Personally I’d rather an autistic mushroom who will defend the constitution as POTUS than the slickest reprocra@ shill who will crinkle a corner of it for ANY reason. And I do mean ANY.
To all the RP basher’s: Who has a better record with the Constitution? Please tell me because I can’t find them! And instead of saying “RP=kook/idiot/ct/antiquated/dumb...”, say “RP=____ because of ______. That is ____ opinion.”
“Constitutionalism = Conservatism” & “Globalism = Liberalism”
Sorry Maeve, but i have to call BS on that one.
i'm a Ron Paul Supporter, been punching away on these threads, and i have yet to see that among "Paulistinian" et al.
The closest i've seen is the constant references to the discredited Trotskiite Lyndon LaRouche, even though he and Ron Paul are polar opposites.
I really don't give a fig. I hold truthers in complete contempt - they undermine the need for unity in the face of the Islamist threat.
Could you imagine in WWII if a vocal group continually tried to claim that Pearl Harbor was actually committed on FDR's orders?
No. I disagree with your assessment of God and our responsibilities to Him.
So you have missed all of the kool-aid and Wyler’s posts? That’s pretty amazing.
Well...when you find a perfect candidate, who has a chance to make a similar impact, let me know. I’ll be glad to back you up. Those of us in the real world, however, can’t be so demanding.
I don’t waste time imagining hypotheticals.
Disagreeing without rudeness is a sign of a) smarts and b) good breeding.
Funny, you have this on your FR home page:
In 2007 I have come to take a very dim view of all neo-cons and have concluded that there is no difference between voting for a Bush or a Clinton
So tell us, then, since Bush=Clinton in your view, that heads haven't rolled already.
You’ve never seen the Wyler’s Punch picture that’s posted near the top of every single Ron Paul thread?
Do you have images turned off in your browser?
No commercials from me. The 9/11 Commission report has so many unanswered questions that it leaves great big holes where a Mack truck could be driven through. I have questions and I would like for their to be an independent investigation. I believe our dead on 9/11 deserve at least that much.
Ever hear the definition of a gentleman? Someone who is never unintentionally rude.
Some folks deserve every scrap of rudeness you can pour upon them. Truthers are in that category.
I meant if Bill Clinton or Hillary Clinton were President the heads that would have rolled would be their own. We would have demanded it.
And so it emerges that Malkin is one of those sad souls who has exchanged Occam’s Razor (which she thinks is the brand name of box cutter used by the hijackers) for Occam’s Kaleidoscope (though which an unlimited vista of fantastical images can be evoked in place of reality).
