Trutheriness and Ron Paul (Michelle Malkin) [Ron Paul Says The Darnedest Things!]
Michelle Malkin ^ | May 19, 2007 | Michelle Malkin

CALLER: I want a complete, impartial, and totally independent investigation of the events of September 11, 2001 . I’m tired of this bogus garbage about terrorism. Ask Michael Meacher about how he feels about this bogus war on terrorism. Can you comment on that please?

HON. DR. RON PAUL: Well, that would be nice to have. Unfortunately, we don’t have that in place. IT WILL BE A LITTLE BIT BETTER NOW WITH THE DEMOCRATS NOW IN CHARGE OF OVERSIGHT. But you know, for top level policy there’s not a whole lot of difference between the two policies so a real investigation isn’t going to happen. But I think we have to keep pushing for it. And like you and others, we see the investigations that have been done so far as more or less cover-up and no real explanation of what went on.

Lot of bashing of Ron Paul being a truther. Wonder what Michelle was wondering when she wrote this? Most would think she was trying to get to the truth as well. Which by the way, there is nothing wrong with that.

She is not running for office, but she sure has a lot of influence on some of the republican voters.

I wonder who has the answer to her last question. I thought Fox answered it back in Dec of 01.

Interview with Fox News babe after the debate today.

He specifically denied Trutherism yet again today (and these Paul-haters would like us to believe that none of them saw it).

He speaks about the Gulf of Tonkin remark and how events are shaded and used to justify war, just as the anthrax scare and the aftermath of 9/11 were used to stampeded the nation into invading Iraq, believing that Saddam was somehow connected to 9/11 and that he was menacing us with WMD:

In the second clip, Ron Paul also addresses the questions about being on Alex Jones' show and the question of whether he is really a Libertarian instead of a Republican. He made strong statements on borders, protecting Social Security for current recipients and his record on that, and on interstate CCW rights.

These are some really great clips for all those who are curious about these malicious rumors hurled at Ron Paul and also for any Ron Paul supporters. This is the first friendly appearance Ron Paul has had on Fox News. He was knocking 'em out of the ballpark.

[We'll probably have a thread on these clips tomorrow, possibly a transcript for our dialup folk. But let's leave that till tomorrow.]

I ask this with true sincerity. How can Ron Paul claim he has nothing to do with the Truther movement given that he is a regular guest (and seems to be on friendly terms) with Alex Jones?

Maybe you two would look at my previous post and you'll see Ron Paul address the Trutherism and the Alex Jones appearance directly.

It doesn't require much parsing. He's pretty straightforward. He doesn't support Alex Jones even if Alex Jones supports him. And if he had to be in agreement with every radio and TV show he appeared on, he couldn't be on TV or radio. Certainly, he couldn't have appeared on Fox News because of their obvious pro-war spin.

"That 19 Muslim fanatics with boxcutters led by a man in a cave were able to outsmart the CIA, FBI, DIA and other agencies and then take hold of four passenger jets and that they were never intercepted by our own Air Force...... That is one conspiracy theory on its own that is simply unbelievable." Hmmmmmmmm.......so you don't believe that is what happened? So what exactly do you believe? Can we get you to cut a commercial on Paul's behalf where you expound upon your theories? We'd love for you to enlighten the world on what the aPaulogists believe -- because they're always trying to tell us they aren't 9/11 conspiracy kooks.

You really don’t seem to have an original idea in your head, Petronski.

You, a RP apologist, have the gall to make this statement? You, who are following the lead moron down the path to the eventual destruction of this country? Why don't you demonstrated some ability to think for yourself instead of blithly following this blithering idiot.

Evoking the name of our Lord while posting this drivel will only bring the wrath of God down upon your own ears.

Well the guy is devoid of any real solutions to the situation we as a nation are facing today.

How can you say that? Ron Paul believes we should be good neighbors and a good example to the world, a friend and ally of democracies. He doesn't believe in nationbuilding and endorses "a humble foreign policy" (the same positions our president campaigned on in 2000 before he lost his way). He believes we should prioritize saving Social Security for those who still need it but find more ways for young people to be freed from it. He wants to abolish the IRS. He wants to withdraw from the criminally corrupt United Nations. He wants to close our borders and rely on legal immigration only. He wants to defederalize many programs (like education) and send them back to the states (no block-grants, no federal bureaucracy designing one-size-fits-none programs while skimming off the top to support themselves before sending those programs back to the states only partially funded so that states are forced to spend even more to comply with them).

Ron Paul has some great solutions.

Come on, just admit it. You're feeling the tug to join our Pinglist. The Force is strong with Obie Ron.

Maybe it’s because they knew how gullable and naive the American people has become . They don’t mind showing us what they think about our nations immigration problems ; They don’t even care if we don’t like the idea of feeding, sheltering and providing healhcare for them either , while our health care is outrageously expensive ; They protect drug pushers and even send in the big guns to hand deliver the pushers to our courts to lock up our border agents [Ramos Compean ].Giving drivers license to them, loans formorgages ,Social Security to them and their family's .Do you know how many damn Social Security checks go to mexico every month ? If you don’t you may want to use search engines and find out , if it’s still available that is .

Sending all our jobs out of country.Calling cutthroats ‘peaceful’ and putting up terror alerts to keep us in fear of radical muslims, then giving amnesty to hundreds of thousands of them . Like Iraqis ‘ refugees ‘ , on the way who are said to be at least 100,000 .

I don’t put a damn thing past these two PARTY’S WHO ARE ONE,imo. They don’t have to keep convincing me they are out to destroy my country .

Not saying they allowed it to happen, but do think they have a lot of questions they need to answer. Also it wouldn't’t be that many people involved to keep quite since all the brainwashed animals are dead.

IMO, RP is obviously in trouble when his so-called supporters have to constantly try to explain what he means every time RP opens his mouth.

Gosh the way you put that Maeve, I guess I can understand why even the appointed Commission report had many questions that went unanswered and than the two heads of the commission wrote a book about the fact that they never felt they were getting real answers from the pentagon, FAA and NORAD. Michelle Malkin had questions about the official story of 911 but since had a change of heart.

The interesting thing is, if Clinton (bill or hillary) were in office, we would be calling for heads.

Alex Jones is an Austin radio institution. He’s nuts and I suspect that’s why people listen. He’s very entertaining. On Sunday he’s carried by KLBJ AM, the same station that runs Rush Limbaugh 5 days a week In fact his Sunday show gets plenty of advertising during the Rush Limbaugh program. He has all sorts of guests on his show. Ted Nugent for example comes on all the time to talk about gun issues.

The GOP establishment is really knuckle dragging now.

Ha,ha, nope sorry. In a different world I might buy into this simplistic vision of how to run America but in todays convoluted situation I want somebody who’s agenda goes beyond “take em home”. Though I never signed on to invading Iraq I do believe turning a blind eye on international terrorism is stupid and dangerous and I don’t support anyone who wants to pretend that we America is to blame for the current world conditions !!!

Alex Jones.

I heard AJ use to work with some freepers and protest and bash Clinton way back in the day. Once Clinton was out and AJ started to bash Bush, the same freepers wanted nothing to do with him.

Sometimes, the simplest explanation really is the best one.

Agreed.

Still, when the public treasury funds a study of some catastrophic event, a simple explanation must be accompanied by a rather detailed set of information or the conspiracy-minded will immediately cry "cover-up." The report of the 9/11 commission, if you've seen it, is an example of this. As thick as it is, they managed to leave out significant facts which, if they had been included, would have headed off many of the Truthers' far-fetched theories that entertainers such as Alex Jones gloat in.

What Ron Paul wants, and what I believe most of us here want also, is the straight story, unadulterated by partisanship and speculation. We can handle it if the feds say they screwed up; we'd prefer they didn't, but it's better to admit your mistakes than to deny any were made and leave yourself open for the same errors in the future.

LOL! So only people living under a bridge could possibly believe that terrorists with box-cutters took over 4 jets and crashed them? Do tell me what I’ve been missing under this bridge! Wait — get the cameras rolling.....I want this for the Ron Paul campaign ads.

Sorry, Maeve, I believe you are sincere .. misguided perhaps, but sincere.

Your page shows that you are a believing Christian woman. It takes an enormous leap of faith to believe in Christianity. It requires one to believe that Jesus Christ was put on the cross, left to hang for three hours, a spear put through his gut, his body buried ... and YET ... after three days arose from the dead, moved aside the boulder closing his grave, and walked among his disciples, then arose physically into Heaven. Now, that is hard to believe on an objective scale. But in your heart of hearts, you believe it.

Why is is to hard, then, for you to believe that 19 men with evil in their hearts, and boxcutters in their hands, after years of extraordinary planning and planeloads of compliant passengers and crews (save one), could not wreak what happened on 09-11-01?

Both may be ‘unbelievable’ scenarios, but both are not only possible, I believe they happened.
