I hate to say this but this is SOP. More will come out, and an investigation is ongoing. Probably best to say anything other than terrorism at this point.

I do not know this (what I typed) but what else can the FBI do? I know, tell the truth. But if the truth is told, someone or someones could be tipped, if those someone haven't already been tipped, and they probably have been tipped simply because the story made the news.

I hope and pray the FBI has others under surveillance by now, after these two names have been released. It is now known, for a fact, these people were Middle Eastern, and quite possibly something is in the wind.

Asking, the Moderators for full body armor. Because I am a target with what I just typed.

I stand with you, bro. Let the FBI, CIA, whoever come at us. I'm so tired of being sold out to the terrorists.

I voted twice for GWB. Why, I don't know.

Here’s what bugs me about the FBI always jumping on the “no terrorism” message.

We are told, as a citizenry, to be on the lookout. That an attack may be imminent, that certain infrastructure are targets...then when something that seems so obviously related to terrorism (as this incident does) occurs, they tell us it isn’t related to terrorism.

It’s like the FBI has become the “boy who cried wolf.” Watch out for terrorism, watch out for terrorism...oh we were just kidding, these guys with explosives who are of ME descent have nothing to do with terrorism.

I think it creates a false sense of security when they downplay things like this. (the guys were near a Naval Installation, it’s not like they were riding around in the boondocks.)

I would just rather they would say, “hey, we can’t talk about an ongoing investigation.”

I know, tell the truth. .... if those someone haven’t already been tipped, and they probably have been tipped simply because the story made the news.

Well, they could say at this point they are not sure if terror related, at the least. To say definitively, no link to terrorism is not helpful to the public, especially someone who may have seen something, was unsure about going to police and now will not come forward.

They had a laptop they were caught hiding when stopped for speeding, PVC pipe and rocket motors among other things. Their location when stopped, Middle Eastern, what other reasons would they have for these actions?

I am not one who thinks govt has to give us every minute detail, but when the FBI feeds us bullsh*t, they become irrelevant to the public when they tell us anything.

No, I think you may have something. I live in GC, and Berkeley county sheriffs don’t pull over speeders. too spread out. Unless doing 100 mph in front of them. So I suspect something else is going on.The first reports said info came in from another “jurisdiction” ??? someone dropped a dime. They must be withholding info to protect an investigation or person. And why was the FBI, ATF, Sled, called in, beside county and city officers?

Their buddies would be tipped simply by their not showing up where expected.

That laptop should prove very interesting (I'm assuming, of course, that the agents will be allowed to look at it this time).

Not from me. I’ve suspected that with lots of things that were obviously terrorist, like the OU bomber and some of the planes that have gone down.

No, you are correct. We must remember that next to actual terrorists, we must fear and deal with defense lawyers who in spite of protestations are part and parcel of the terrorist effort.

These lawyers are basically WOT parasites enriching themselves by defending the terrorists.

The FBI by saying anything, will provide fodder for the defense lawyers. Better to say very little or nothing than anything early on.
