*HUGS*Uneventful.. I started the pruning on Saturday and finished this morning early..I found an old birdnest..with one tiny egg in it..The nest was all black with age and old leaves filled it so I did not recognize it at first..Of course I kept it..I finally threw away another empty nest I had found years ago in a limb that tree trimmers had pruned.
Thanks Kathy!

I got out before 8 this morning..It’s summertime in Texas!
i talked to several "recently returned GIs" at the Berryville Hamfest yesterday.
based on their "on the ground" comments, one has reason to wonder WHAT self-serving/arrogant/sanctimonious LIES the main-SLIME media will tell this fall, when the "word" gets out that we are WINNING the war in Iraq??? (inasmuch as the main-SLIME media ROUTINELY lies, i'm sure they'll come up with SOMETHING to try & extricate themselves from the "web of lies" that they've spun ever since the war began!)
one of the guys, an SSG/MP from WVA told me that they are having MANY Iraqis "turning in" the FOREIGN TERRORISTS, to Iraqi & US forces.
the "turned in" terrorists then SOON get KILLED or captured! (fyi, there is a FINITE number of foreign terrorists, who are willing to go to Iraq to get KILLED, without "accomplishing anything", other than "assuming room temperature". most people in the world PREFER being ALIVE!)

I’ve been meaning to tell you for awhile, that we have a Peregrine Falcon nesting in one of the Wolf Pines here.
I feel very blessed about that!
Ms.B
Yes, it finally got here. I did like the cooler temps, but will have to deal with the heat now.

Good morning, beachy, to you and your laptop...((HUGS))...hope you get your computer working again. I feel your pain.
It looked white with brown specks ..I must go out to the garage later and really look closely..The nest is small and well made once I got the excess leaves away from it..I am going to measure the egg and hunt to see if I can find the bird who made it..One egg was cracked.I need to “clean up” the nest before I bring it in.
I just turned on the laptop in my bed..My back is complaining that I abused it this morning.
Now I can admit that it is nice to be able to rest my back and still be on the computer..I was a reluctant laptop buyer.
Great post and I will see you there!
Blessed indeed..I have seen your wonderful picture..What great bird watching!
I have twice seen a lovely hawk this past week..My first one here at my house. I think it was a juvenile red tailed..but can’t be sure.
I’m looking.. I found house sparrow but they make messy nests and you said it was well made. Hmm... Maybe a Chickadee. Did the egg size seem small enough for the nest or did it appear kinda larger for that nest? I’m reading about nests and eggs now. Very interesting reading :) This is fun to me. Do you recognize material nest is made out of? Any moss?
OH Lordy this for Tomkow report off Brit FT that Tomkow fav restaurant HOOTERS restaurant coming to Dubrai VERY SOONNNNN report is that Govt going allow Hooter come to town OH LORDY
I don’t know what they serve Dubai be honest Tomkow meat is not allow
Also antoher report off Kydto news wire report that gun fire was exchange on DMZ zone near South and North Korea last night
I just cracked the egg..it was cracked on the bottom..but it is barely intact on the front..I was trying to measure..and dare not pick it up again..Less than an inch long is as close as I can guess. The egg is gray or beige with medium and dark brown spots. The nest inner circle is 3 inches across.very small stems woven inside some grass it seems woven at the bottom..I am going to get tweezers to remove the rest of the leaves at the bottom..carefully..I don’t want to move the egg again!..I saw a tendril on the outside..like a vine stem and the nandina berry stems are used..There is a nandina hedge nearby..Could it be a house finch..I have chickadees, titmice and house finches all year..I see Carolina wrens very seldom now..but I used to see one often years ago.
It’s old and brittle..The outside of the nest is messy and the nandina stems loose..but the inside is well preserved. I see leaf lining on the outside..and a scrap of clear plastic..
