Do you support James Sanders’ theory that the US Navy brought down the plane?

No, I don't. Yes, there were a couple of US warships training in the vacinity, but I doubt that you could keep a whole ship full of sailors quiet about accidentally downing an American airliner. Granted, there would only be a handful of men in the CIC who would actually have positive proof that it happened, but the chances of those guys not telling a buddy, or two or three, about the accident and then all of those guys keeping absolutely quiet over the past eleven years are minimal.

I think that it was downed by a SAM launched from a boat just off the coast. There are numerous reports of a small vessel fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed. At the time, everyone was heading to the crashsite to search for survivors and they also didn't quite know what had happened, so nobody thought to track this vessel until it was too late.

If someone can ever provide conclusive proof that the plane was destroyed by a tragic accident, then I will be the first to admit that I was wrong. But at the present time, there are just too many inconsistencies in the official reports on the crash for me to believe that it was just an accident.
