I don’t believe in a terrorist attack on flight 800 because the prevailing evidence does not lead to that conclusion.
I think what separates FR from the “Loose Change” crowd is that we here at FR should relay on facts and science rather than emotion. There is no difference in the people who claim 9/11 was an inside job because of their vitriol for Bush and the claim that TWA 800 was a terrorist attack because of their vitriol of Clinton.
If people believe that a terror attack brought down flight 800 based on science, fine, please show me the evidence. I don’t want hear jfkesque claims that we don’t know the truth because we aren’t allowed to hear it.
I want real sound scientific evidence and proof. I can understand it, I am a registered engineer.
Actually, President Bush is quite competent. This discussion is about the Clinton allowed shoot down of a US Passenger jet in 1996 which was ignored as Clinton was running for re-election. President Bush was not in office at that time. How would he know? We were attacked 9 months after President Bush took office, and thank God President Bush was in office at that time, no thanks to the Clintonistas who ignored terrorist attack after terrorist attack. I think they ignored an act of war in 1996.
So GWB, with access to all the NSA, CIA, DIA, TSB documents and analysts knows less than you do, who has access to none of that.

What I find astounding are the folks who claim Clinton conspiracy but come up with creative reasons why GW Bush hasn’t told us the “truth”.

Again, you are shifting the scene to President Bush. Is it the responsibility of the incoming President to go after the criminal activities of the previous administration?

The issue here is TWA 800 being shot down and the Clinton administration - and the fact that 11 years after the fact the Clinton propaganda machine is STILL trying to convince “us” that it was the center fuel tank explosion that brought that plane down and all airliners need this billion dollar retrofit of their jets in order to prevent maybe 1 crash in the next 40 years that maybe just might be related to a center fuel tank explosion from the “cause” that the propagandists still claim brought down that airliner.
NOBODY in the Airline business BUYS IT. Now THEY are either criminally negligent or they just like to risk having their planes full of passengers explode in the sky from the “center fuel tank” danger.

Look I think Clinton was Arkansas pond-scum but if this was the conspiracy you say it is, any subsequent administration would be completely derelict in continuing the “lie”.
Who knows what President Bush’s team might have been able to uncover and report about regarding the Clinton criminal regime. He could have turned his entire time in office to doing just that. It would have taken a full time effort to get all the facts out away from the little grimy paws and minds of the Clintonistas buried as deep into the government bureaucracy as they could get them.
But on Sept 11, 2001, our nation was attacked.
Our nation’s economy went into a tailspin.
What did we need at that time? A President whose team was digging into the Clinton criminal coverups????? NO! OUr nation and the world needed just exactly what we were given by God and the good sense of the American people when they elected President Bush in 2000.
One of these days - the truth will come out. The issue today came up because CNN ran a story on the center fuel tank FAKED DANGER story blaming the evil Airline companies for not wanting to invest in this billion dollar unnecessary technology.
The issue is not what President Bush has or has not done about this or any of the other Clinton crimes.
This will be my last post on the topic but I’d be absolutely appalled if an administration didn’t tell me the truth, regardless.

No problem. The focus of this story for me was/is the continuing propaganda - even 11 years after the event - for a non-cause of that plane’s crash. The issue was not what President Bush has done about it. Maybe another night we can debate what would our nation be like today had the Bush administration taken on the Clinton crimes instead of the issues it has had to tackle.

That explanation only holds true if you believe the ridiculous NTSB claim that after the initial explosion that the plane, minus it's nose section all the way back to the wings, managed to climb an additional 2000 feet before plummeting to Earth.

It was congressional testimony about the Scallop Boat “Alpha Omega”.
“The Scallop boat, Alpha Omega found and discarded overboard the first stage of a shoulder fired missile in October of 1996 two miles from Flight 800’s explosion point. This is near the spot where Islip radar recorded a boat traveling away from the exploding aircraft at 30 knots. Through questions submitted for us by this committee, we forced the FBI to admit that they failed to identify that boat.”
The FBI subsequently commissioned this, and four other trawlers, to go search the seabed for the ejector-motor can, the battery cooling unit, and the last scavenge pump, but they apparently went looking in the wrong place.
A manual showing information on what they were looking for was left behind inadvertantly by the FBI.
Now how would the incoming President know whether or not alleged crimes were true or not? They wouldn’t know without an investigation. That means they would have to commission an investigation into the alleged crimes of the preceding administration. Tell me when this has ever been done in the history of our nation.

I’m quite impressed.
I think that it was downed by a SAM launched from a boat just off the coast. There are numerous reports of a small vessel fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed. At the time, everyone was heading to the crashsite to search for survivors and they also didn't quite know what had happened, so nobody thought to track this vessel until it was too late.
If someone can ever provide conclusive proof that the plane was destroyed by a tragic accident, then I will be the first to admit that I was wrong. But at the present time, there are just too many inconsistencies in the official reports on the crash for me to believe that it was just an accident.
