I am deeply saddened to hear this news. Tim and I grew close while working on the Arkansas prison blood scandal in the late 1990s. I was as impressed by him in person as I had been when I knew him only through his writing. He was as delightfully witty as his FR nickname would lead you to expect, and as principled and good a man as you could ever hope to meet.
My deepest sympathy goes out to his family.
Tim, we were blessed to know you. May God now bless you and keep you.
