It has not been an easy few months for Judith Giuliani. Her rollout to the public received rocky reviews from the political class, Republicans included. A series of negative articles about her shopping habits, marital past and supposedly testy relations with campaign staff followed. Her appearances alongside her husband, Rudolph W. Giuliani, grew suddenly scarce and some analysts suggested that she keep it that way.
So it was perhaps no surprise that at a recent lunch in downtown Manhattan, Mrs. Giuliani offered this self-assessment: When it comes to politics, Im new to this.
Over the course of a two-hour interview, Mrs. Giuliani, 53, talked for the first time about how she met Mr. Giuliani and about their first date. (He asked her out, she said.)

Im sure thats something that can get one into, you know She did not finish the thought, but allowed her hands to flutter cautiously before going on. But I try to remain me. And again, part of that is not doing anything more than I have to in terms of making myself in any way a distraction from what my husband is trying to do for America.
Not becoming a distraction to her husband, a front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, appears to be an elusive goal.

...she cuts a figure that Mr. Giulianis aides say will appeal to Republican voters. Husband and wife agree that Laura Bush is a model for Mrs. Giuliani.
But Judith carries some distinctly un-Laura baggage. Like her husband, she has been married twice before. They also had a secret affair for a year before Mr. Giuliani announced it to the world and to his second wife, Donna Hanover at a news conference.

Big difference there. This may be a hit piece but its a hit on a worthless liberal.
The sooner that turd JulieAnnie is knocked out of the race the better.
Rooty needs to go back to NY and play dress-up with his queer friends.

By Judy Bachrach, September 2007, Vanity Fair
EXCERPT In 1974 (Judy) graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. At 19 she married Jeffrey Ross, a U.S. Surgical salesman six years her senior.
In short order both Rosses were working in Charlotte, North Carolina, for U.S. Surgical (now part of Tyco Healthcare), which eventually grew into a billion-dollar enterprise marketing surgical staplers.
Judi was excellent at her work, and earned $40,000 a year by the late 70s. But problems arose when animal-rights groups began investigating the way the company sold its productsproblems recently pointed out by the New York press.
U.S. Surgical used dogs in demonstrations to doctors and hospitals as part of its marketing plan.
"Every salesperson at U.S. Surgical was trained for six weeks with dogs at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, and that was really brutal," explains a former employee. "They spent days and days with dogs, taking out the spleen or stomach or the lobe of a lung. Then if the dog started moaning or fidgeted, whoever was closest would push more sedative into him from the syringe. It was horrible. Then the dog would be killed with potassium chloride."
After training, the salespeople marketed the staplers to doctors, and, once again, in many cases large dogs were used, as they had organs comparable in size to those possessed by humans.
"After the stapling, sometimes they'd put a big clamp above and below the staple lines of the dog, and fill [the area] with lots of fluid," the ex-employee says. "It would fill up like a balloon, and the salesperson would say to the doctor, 'Seeit doesn't leak!' That's how they marketed and sold the product."
(Some years ago, former C.E.O. Leon Hirsch defended the company's practice of using dogs, claiming that there was no proper substitute.)

Yup.
'CHEMICAL JUDI' A BOOST TO RUDY
By SUSAN EDELMAN, NY POST
April 29, 2007
EXCERPT Rudy Giuliani consulted his wife Judith on bioterrorism after 9/11, and considered her "an expert we rely on" at his high-powered consulting firm.......Manhattan-based business, Giuliani Partners.
......the ex-mayor spoke about Judith's role in a 2003 interview, with his bride at his side: "She gives us a lot of advice and a lot of help in areas where she's got a lot of expertise - biological and chemical," he said......."And since we do security work, that's an area of great concern - you know, another anthrax attack, a smallpox attack, chemical agents. She knows all of that."
Giuliani made the comments to worldwide syndicated interviewer Daphne Barak in taped footage seen by The Post (that never aired in the US).
Giuliani said his wife "worked in the pharmaceutical industry for years. So, she's an expert that we rely on," he said.

Donna Hanover might have been a piece of work, but most intelligent people would get a divorce before starting an affair with someone.
This is a big flaw on his part. He’s got some amazing qualities, and it’s not just the “he’s human” thing.
I don’t think most humans cheat on their spouses. Some do, and it’s not just a character flaw, it’s hurtful of other people, like their children, not to mention their spouse.
I think I agree with you. Of course, I had these “moral” issues with Governor Arnie, and you know what? I’m glad I voted for the guy. He’s a great governor.
I have issues with Rudy and Judy, and the whole cheating thing. It disgusts me down to my core. But, so did the whole Arnie groping women thing, and I remember when he was doing all that stuff. It literally made me feel sick.
However, I think I would DEFINITELY vote for him over any Dem, and I’ll vote for ANY Repub over the Dem in the Pres. election.
This year, the issues seem to have taken second position to the dirt about the candidates’ spouse. We’ve got the usual dirt on Bill Clinton, of course. And we’ve got the trophy wife BS about Thompson. And this BS about Guiliani’s wife.
We’ve got Edwards’ wife running around attacking Anne Coulter and making more noise than her husband.

HOW AFWFUL!
No wonder she favors abortion!
People that mutilate animals eventually graduate up to humans.
I agree.
I agree.
Dear xsmommy,
You make a good point that is missed or ignored by many.

Thanks.
“I don’t have a dog in this fight, but this caught my eye:”
LOL!
Thanks for your informative post.
I’m one of the few Rudy supporters who lurks around here. He has the strength that I’m looking for. Got miracles done in NY. He’s the only real pit bull in the fight, plus he is eloquent about terrorism and conservative fiscal issues.
Hey look, abortion will never be banned until the Taliban takes over. I don’t think the evangelicals will be stupid enough to stay home because Rudy has gay friends.
I'm not celebrating it at all even though I'm firmly in Fred's camp. As a matter of fact, my first thought was, "I wonder how many hit pieces the NYT has done on dem spouses?" I think we all know the answer to that.
Hay some one got it...
: >)
Frankly, I think that the harm to Mrs. Giuliani III was done earlier in the year. This article doesn’t appear to me to be a hit-piece at all, but rather an attempt at rehabilitation.
It doesn’t surprise me that the pro-abort, pro-death, anti-gun, anti-human New York Times would try to rehabilitate the Republican presidential candidacy of the pro-abort, pro-death, anti-gun, anti-human Mr. Giuliani.

Why do “politicians” suddenly come to mind as a proper substitute? ;)
