They’ll be used to play “Invasores Del Espacio” or sold to buy food and clothes.

Where are they going to plug in the laptops? Their belly buttons?
Smooth move, Carlos. No wonder you’ve got all those pesos.

Mexico isn’t some starving nation in sub-Saharan Africa, you know. While poverty may be rife, the majority of people have enough of the bare essentials to get by.
If giving disadvantaged Mexican kids computers helps get them a better education and, in the long run, helps to raise the standard of living, then I’m all for it. A wealthier, healthier Mexico on our southern border can only be good for America.

Slim amassed his fortune by a corrupt monopoly. He’s trying to brush up his image so reformers can’t take it away.

Question:
What is it with these rich barons? They make their millions with a b off the back of America, then turn their backs on the country by either backing far leftist candidates, or assist illegal invaders. Why?
Answer:
The same ole same ole - do away with the two party system, as the Demos in Congress, and the state of Washington, think has already been done, in order to get complete control of the populace in order to guarantee their elitism forever.

I hope Carlos includes all poor mexican children, including the kids that have come over here or born here of illegal parents.

250,000 low-cost laptops to children by the end of the year and as many as 1 million in 2008, saying "digital education"
To: Froufrou
Why are my American children being disenfranchised? Both of them would like a laptop, but we just can’t afford them. One of the two is a straight A student taking honors classes. As a parent, it feels awful not being able to afford a laptop for such an overachiever. Instead, we watch large sums of money going to pork, special interests and lawbreaking foreigners.
‘scuse me while I go cut my own darn lawn.
To: Froufrou
This is an envy deflection tactic, similar to a rich person becoming a limousine liberal.
Instead of giving out bribes maybe he should devote his energies to fighting bribes and corruption in Mexico. A required step for a nation to lift itself out of third world status and provide wealth for all its citizens requires the establishment of rule of law.
