The blood of innocent Christian missionaries spills on Afghan sands. The world watches and yawns.
The United Nations offers nothing more than a formal expression of "concern." Where is the global uproar over the human rights abuses unfolding before our eyes?
For two weeks, a group of South Korean Christians has been held hostage by Taliban thugs in Afghanistan.
This is the largest group of foreign hostages taken in Afghanistan since Operation Enduring Freedom began in 2001.
What was their offense? Were they smuggling arms into the country? No.
Inciting violence? No.
They were peaceful believers in Christ on short-term medical and humanitarian missions.

So is the article in favor of giving in to the demands of the Jihadists? Doesn’t that merely encourage more kidnappings? I’m sorry these people were kidnapped but they went into an arena of war where one side is known to be bloodthirsty and amoral. I’m sorry they are in danger but I put them in the same category as Daniel Pearl. When you traipse around trouble spots, sometimes trouble finds you. I hope they are rescued. I hope more that they are not ransomed.

These are true practitioners of a religion of peace, not the hatemongers with bombs and AK-47s strapped to their chests who slay instead of pray their way to martyrdom.

The “world” only cares about getting rid of Bush. After that, everything will be OK. Just ask “the world”.

I guess all we can say is 'we're not sending in special ops (I thought Koreans invented special ops?) but as soon as y'all kill the last one you can consider your region one big smokin' wasteland.'
Enter Spooky and Spectre.

Since the beginning of Christianity there has been the risk of peaceful teachers of Christ being slaughtered by ruthless heathens.

In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted
(2 Timothy 3:12)
In this you greatly rejoice, though now you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trils. These have come so that your faith- of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire- may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed
(1 Peter 1:6-7)
The world may watch and yawn, but we and many more have been praying for strength for them in this time. They absolutely knew the risk, and yet they went in obedience to Christ's call.
They are not forgotten. They are not ignored. The most important eyes of all are watching them closely.

If the ROK marines and/or special ops aren’t there by now ,you can bet one of our own lily-liver pols is standing in the way.

They were peaceful believers in Christ... But, that would present a problem to the Taliban.
Ahem, am I correct?...or am I right?

I'm guessing we or the UK are telling them (S. Korea) we don't wish to 'widen' the war to their face, but are telling the afghanis 'you better cough 'em up like now.'
All that's left is minor negotiating details.
I sincerely hope that once they're freed, we rain hell on them saying this is what happens when you try to widen the war:

These people were sent there to help others . And they are probably not well educated, so whoever keeps sending missionaries to these pits of hell should have to answer for it either here or the afterlife.
I was surprised they went myself . Poor naive things .

While I do think there is a valid call to think the best of others, it does seem to me that these Christian groups all too often think others will percieve them as ‘good’, and this will result in safety. Well, sadly, it doesn’t.
Going into war zones is the best way I know of to become a victim. And when this happens your organization, family, friends and their nation becomes a victim right along with them.
Their government must now on some level try to obtain their release. Frankly, I think that’s a waste of time. These folks weighed the pros and cons and made a terribly stupid decision. Now they are going to have to live with it.
It’s a lofty goal to provide care to those in need. It’s a lowly decision to expose so many to the down side of sticking their neck out needlessly.
I hope the rest are released unharmed. Unfortunately, demons don’t share that inclination.

I guess now they'll get to see how strong their Christianity really is.
God, receive them.

I hope and pray they don’t kill anymore .It makes me feel bad every time they get their evil hands on another human being .
I should pray more and get angry less, but it’s so hard with so much going on and I’m weaker from it .

What makes you think they are not educated?

Not the first time I have seen this kinda thing with S. Koreans. Saw a group of S. Korean contractors in Iraq drive all over Iraq without security. The company owner did not want to spend the money on security. He said they were not Americans so the hajjis had no problem with them. Their van was ambushed and six of them were killed. Unfortunately he wasn´t one of them.
Anybody that would send Christian missionaries into a Muslim country especially Afghanistan and Pakistan is a frigging idiot.
