Decapitation attacks on Islamist Holy sites themselves are only part of the issue, you need to work on their inner confidence in their religion. Judeo-Christian teachings have always declared for example that Israel would arise a third time and this time would never be destroyed as a nation(not that the nations won’t again try to destroy her, its just that God intervenes during Armegeddon). Islam declares itself to be the true religion and all others false. Yet Islamist scholars also know of the various Jewish and Christian prophecies and teachings, especially concerning Israel.
Israel must be destroyed or Islam must be discarded, there is no middle ground for the Islamists, especially the most extremist jihadi types. Western nations with their hedonistic philosophies must give way to Islam or Islam must be discarded as a powerless creed. Many extremist Muslims can’t live in the middle and can’t adjust to incongruity between inner vision and outer reality.
An “infidel” nation who commits a kind of reverse “abomination of desolation” by strewing pig guts all over the Kaaba stone before nuking it will have a profound effect on many a Muslim.(that is the ones the Nukes don’t kill)
In that endeavor, I bet a ton of Red shirts would bite the bullet. :)
In any case, a faith or ideology will never die as long as it has one believer. Destroying Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem would not kill devastate Islam anymore than destroying the Vatican and Jerusalem would Christianity.
