Tulsa - It's the middle of the summer travel season. And, Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson is warning consumers to beware of potentially hazardous tires, likely on thousands of trucks, SUVs and vans.
The tires were sold in the U.S. by Foreign Tire Sales, Inc. and are missing 'gum strips', which prevent tread separation. The tires were sold under the names "Westlake", "Compass" and "YKS" between 2004 and 2006 and were manufactured in China by Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber Company Ltd.

Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber?
Hangzhou Zhongce shame on you,
Hangzhou Twice, shame on me..................
Where the lubber meets the load.
Firestone ? aka Bridgestone.
I was going to say something about the top of Old Abe’s head.
Fortune Cookie Tire Company don’t make good house pet!
More China junk.
"Wow. Chinese technology. Melamine-laced albumin,
lead-painted children's toys, dioxin-flavored ice cream,
human food from dog's you-know-what,
pharmaceuticals containing lead, roadkill, and road paint
unstable blowoutable tires, defective tires missing 'gum strips' to prevent tread separation.
garbage and feces-fed seafood, melamine-dog food,
dioxin- and melamine-filled vitamins!!!!
polyethylene glycol-flavored toothpaste!!!
cardboard-asbestos filled buns!!!!!!
embalming-fluid filled candies and pastries!
Is there ANYTHING the Chinese can't do (or ship to other countries)?"
No, thanks. Don’t need any more Chinese gotchas.
99% are safe!.............out out 1,000,000 tires, that would be 10,000 blowouts!...........I guess that’s “safe” by Chinese standards!.......
Hope not. Got a set on a new car we bought recently. Fire(Bridge)stone weren’t mentioned in the article, so my fingers are crossed.
And out of a billion tires only ten million blowouts. What a bargain!
what brands are they?
I don’t see ‘Firestone’ anywhere in the story.
Is that a trick question or did you go blind after the first paragraph?
what brands are they?

No trick, I buy tires from Les Schwab and I want to know which ones are made here, not in some half ass factory in Asia...
The tires were sold under the names "Westlake", "Compass" and "YKS" between 2004 and 2006 ...
Wonder what the average ratio of failure is?
