No, Im not kidding. Heres a paraphrase of what he said:
...the only reason Bush is talking about fatalities is because he didnt give MN enough money to maintain the bridge.
Right, Ed. Because its the President, and not Congress, who appropriates highway funds for roads and bridges.
Whats more, have we really departed so far from our federalist roots that were now blaming the President of the United States for not properly maintaining a bridge in Minneapolis (if that is indeed why the bridge went down)? What about local city officials? County road inspectors? State highway department people? The governor?
But hey, I guess this is what you get from a paid mouthpiece for the Democrat party.
Of course, Schultz isnt the only liberal driven to stupidity by the bridge collapse in Minnesota. Others are saying that the bridge collapsed because, get this, we arent paying enough in taxes. Again, Im not sure why the bridge in Minnesota collapsed (hasnt anyone been inspecting it?), but if more funding was needed to maintain it Congress could have cut back on the number of million dollar bus stops and bridges to nowhere theyve been building with our highway money.
I read on the live thread about this tragedy that some reporterette intimated that the collapse was due, in part, to global warming. How for in left field are these people? It’s going to interesting when Bush is out of office. Who will the idiots on the left blame then????? Or will the everything negative from now until the end of time be Bush’s fault?
“The bridge collapsed in the middle of maintenance. The money must have come from somewhere.”
An excellent response.
This is like when they blamed the president for Hurricane Katrina two years ago and a lot of the horses’ asses out there believed them.
I'd like to point out that one of the main platforms of Bill Clinton's campaign in '93 was how our infrastructure was in such bad need of repair and he promised he would fix it. This was long before I had any idea what a dispicable, lying POS he was and I simply remember it very clearly because I agreed with him that it ought to be a priority. I never heard whether the money had been allocated for it but I have long suspected it was and just never got there. Your post confirms it. Slick had eight years and he failed completely. Just one more way to take our money and fund their own agenda with it.
Rudy who???
Oh yeah... Mr. “Chocolate City” himself. I quit listening to anything he had to say after that. I thought that was a racist comment, even though he tried to qualify it by expounding on MILK chocolate....
I can’t believe he got re-elected, but I’m sure it all goes back to Jorge./s
Clinton promised this would be done in '93. Does anyone here know if he ever authorized a bill such as this? He was talking about a complete nation-wide overhaul. Did the taxpayers already pay for it? Is Missuz Clinton going to give us the same empty promises her HINO did?
;)
nump
LOL! What an idiot!
Actually, I predicted they would pin this on Global Warming in the original FR thread on the collapse yesterday within two hours of the disaster.
This ignoramous should just shut up. Does he get paid by the stupid comment?
You know, you may be on something.
Did Hillary have to drive across that bridge to get to the Wellstone funeral?
We have a bridge in our area which needs replacing, the debate is strictly between local and state arguing over who pays, the feds say no money. This has been going on for years, and the bridge is getting worse daily.
Like with hurricanes, levees and evacuation, you are on your own when it comes to safety. The nanny federal state isn’t going to fix anything.
"George Bush doesn't care about Lutheran people" - Kayne "the Reformed" West.
I heard an interview from Minnesota’s Democrat Senator Amy Klobuchar and I could tell she was biting her tongue to keep from blaming Bush. I’m sure the Democrat talking points linking Bush and probably global warming to this tragedy will be forthcoming.
Our locals didn’t sit on their butts waiting for the police to save them. It was “regular Joes” that rescued the children off the school bus.
Up here, like in Greensburg,KS we get up, dust ourselves off and get to work. Yes, even the loony liberals of Mpls will give hand of help. You won’t see too many people sitting in their filth, waiting for a hand out.
That is most certainly coming.
