Did Savage coin that phrase?
Savage, if my memory serves me, was sucking his thumb then.
What, do I have to purchase a new edition of the whole thing for just this one word?!
He was about 22, I think. But I had no idea the word was in use so long.
It may be even older. Remember, “Falange” is the name given to the Lebanese fascist party. They’re all Christian. Folks really did need a different word than “falangist” to deal with the Moslem fascists in that part of the world.
Now if we could only get the Dim O Rats to add it to their vocabulary.
I prefer the term Islamonazism which Michael Medved has also adopted in favor of “Islamofascism”.
The holy warriors seek to establish an Islamic Supremacist society.
They are clearly antisemites although those of other faiths are also “to be” treated as second class citizens or worse under the law. Former muslims are considered the lowest (and can face the death penalty in some parts of the world) because they “had” Islam and rejected it.
The sheer brutality of their attrocicites puts them on a scale with the Nazis and they express a shared desire for a goal of the Nazis in ridding the world of Jews.
But ultimately such terms are used because we WANT to believe in the concept of “moderate muslims” and so must find some other term for the warriors of the Islamic Empire. Islam was founded by a warlord to conquer, enslave, and build an empire.
The Left doesn’t even like the term “War on Terror”. And they didn’t like it when the beloved Communists’ USSR was called The Evil Empire.
Speaking of IslamoNAZIsm...
Most people know what the word “jihad” means.. struggle
guess what Mein Kampf means “My struggle”
Coincidence?
It’s not a “War on Terror”, it’s an Islamofascist terrorist war on America and Western civilization.
The most popular purchased book in the Middle East is Hitlers’ Jihadi. THe Turkish Muslims in Germany want the book. THe German govt. has just this month decided to allow the book to be printed in Germany since the second WW in the German and Muslim (Jihadi) editions.
What Germany is disgusting, though i’m not surprised.
Has it been added to American dictionaries, or just to the Oxford English Dictionary?
