Maryland Faces Lawsuit as it Approves Schools Teaching Anal Sex, Trangenderism, as Normal

ANNAPOLIS, August 1, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A public school district's program promoting anal sex, homosexuality, bisexuality, and transvestitism as normal sexual variations was recently approved by the Maryland State Board of Education despite strenuous opposition from several pro-family groups. Montgomery County Public School's controversial sexuality curriculum for eighth and tenth grade students is the result of pressure by homosexual advocacy groups.

In response, the Thomas More Law Center, a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, announced today that it will assist the pro-family groups in their appeal of the Education Board's decision to the Montgomery County Circuit Court. The Law Center will be assisted by Maryland attorney John R. Garza who has been involved in the curriculum fight for several years.

The Thomas More Law Center and John Garza represent Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum, Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays, and the Family Leader Network.

According to Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Law Center, "I'm impressed with the principled and steadfast opposition by these pro-family groups to this outrageously hedonistic and life-threatening sexuality curriculum. The Law Center will do everything we can to assist them in their fight."

The pro-family groups oppose the sex program on several grounds: (1) it teaches students that homosexuality is "innate," which is an unproven theory; (2) it teaches students that anal sex is just another sexual option without warning students of the increased HIV/AIDS risk of anal sex, even with a condom; (3) it labels as "homophobic" children who hold traditional religious or moral beliefs about homosexuality; and (4) it teaches students that transgenderism is just another "sexual orientation," even though transgenderism has been classified as a mental disorder.

The Montgomery County Circuit Court may overturn the decision of the State Board of Education. The court may also stay the application of the sexuality curriculum while the appeal is pending. If the court affirms the decision of the State Board of Education, the case will be appealed to the Maryland Court of Appeals.

Edward L. White III, trial counsel with the Law Center, who is handling the case, commented: "This curriculum is full of factual inaccuracies and runs counter to sound educational policy. It should not be taught in the public school."

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. If you want on/off this list, please freepmail me. The main Homeschool Ping List by DaveLoneRanger handles the homeschool-specific articles.

Teaching kids about anal sex? If ever there was a reason to homeschool.

Anyone else exposing children to this kind of material would be thrown in jail and required to register as a sex offender where ever they moved. Why not the educational establishment? Legalized child abuse.

Just when you think you’ve heard it all, this happens. Finding reasons to homeschool is like being beaten over the head until you can’t feel anything anymore.

Dear Lord, I pray for the conversion of these sick people. May they come back to the Gospel and realize their sin.

According to Bill O’Reilly it is normal. Come out of the closet, Mr. O’Reilly. Celebrate your normality!

According to Bill O’Reilly it is normal.

And he thinks we are a hate group for not agreeing with him.

A calumny is a calumny and a general slander a general slander. O'Reilly picked an unrepresentative post, mistated in context and slandered us all. O'Reilly, slandered me, he slandered you.

What difference is there between O'Reilly's calumny and that of Scott Thomas Beauchamp's. Beauchamp slanders every one in the military the same way, imo.

FR is a great forum, and there are none better. No blog can match it.

calumny

noun
1. a false accusation of an offense or a malicious misrepresentation of someone's words or actions [syn: defamation]
2. an abusive attack on a person's character or good name [syn: aspersion]

The slippery slope continues....

15 years ago, our county tried to introduce a Planned Parenthood approved curriculum and hundreds of parents (myself included) fought them tooth and nail.

We won!...abstinence only for our county, even though just this year, Planned Parenthood tried again.

They lost.

Parents have to get involved if they're choosing to send their precious children to public school.

That's how I found out about this....I was on the (parent involvement) School Improvement Committee...

Our legislature had already mandated the Sex Ed....

..it was suppose to be rubber stamped by our school board...

...Praise God, parent involvement at a high level, plus the fact our county is traditionally conservative...

...kept Planned Parenthood from being the victor!

The first time I saw O’Reilly I thought he was a pompous ass. I don’t think I’ve ever watched an entire episode of his show and I won’t turn on is radio show, but I realized that a lot of people enjoyed him and that was fine. But now that he is blatantly lying, I really can’t stand him.

When I got to thinking about it, I realized that O’Reilly has NEVER apologized when he was wrong and the inability to admit a mistake is very telling indicator of a person’s moral character. If I was Kristinn, it would have taken every ounce of restraint for me not to ask O’Reilly if he had settled any more sexual harassment suits recently.

OMG, this is totally not acceptable. I would pull my child from that school system ASAP.

The subject of sex does not need to be taught in schools, it has been, and has done nothing IMO, to alleviate any problems associated with teens and sex.

People need to stand up all over this country to the purposeful socialist program to advance the moral decay through our kids.

When last I checked, that "canal" only gives birth to things that we hasten to flush.

It is the "birth canal" of trial lawyers.
