Clinton in-house-leak to prevent an October Surprise? If the GOP is smart (BIG "if") then they won't make hay of this until October. They've got the document. They can sit on it until the time is right. Just like the Democrats did with the Foley emails.
You are free to go to Wellesley library and read it in person. If it is too far from you, you may have your local public library obtain the microfilm copy for you to read on interlibrary loan. Now that it is available on-line, it is likely much easier to get a copy from Wellesley (less demand).
It is authentic. If you read it you will see the logic of the document is absolutely inescapable. This is Hillary’s life plan. We have been watching it unfold for years.
Kerry’s service records would be considered the same way, but he had to approve their release. The way to get such information to the public is to publicly embarrass the candidate into approving the release of the information, not leaking it or publishing it without permission.
Well, there are a lot of dead people in the Cinton's past circle of friends. They will be silent.
And if Hillary fails to be elected, the Republicans will do her work for her.
bttt
Nice try. I find some conservatives find a completely principled position is difficult to handle. They want to use situational ethics to achieve what they believe to be the proper “conservative” outcome.
I am of the opinion that violating your core principles is never right, even to achieve what would be a “good result”.
Thus, in the topic which has stirred your ire, I apply conservative principles of law and order to determine that, absent clear and convincing evidence, we should respect the jury system and the judicial system, that law enforcement officers shouldn’t fire on suspects without a reasonable certainty of danger, should never do so without proper reporting, and should follow all the procedures they are pledged to follow and never lie to investigators for ANY reason.
Here, if there is a copyright issue, we should not as conservatives gleefully violate personal property rights, even if the outcome is the “correct” one. If we can violate her property rights, she can violate ours.
Of course, labelling me a troll is certainly easier for you than thinking and putting forth a supported position of your own. Refutation is a lot harder than name-calling.
That book was also published to the web in violation of the copyright.
Quoting things from a copyrighted source is fair use. Copying a copyrighted source to the internet for all to read is not fair use.
Uh oh...you’ve exceeded your bandwidth, can’t open this site...
One big difference, though, between the thesis and the Foley emails: the whole world now has access to the thesis via the Net, whereas only the 'Rats and their buddies (plus perhaps some friends of Foley) had access to the emails.
Not sure if Kerry still held the copyright to his book. A common practice is for the author to transfer his copyright to his publisher as part of a the author-publisher contract.
As for the HRC thesis, my guess would be that Wellesley held the copyright and finally agreed to waive it (perhaps for a fee). A lot of private colleges are in poor financial shape these days.
That’s true, but it’s not going to be a topic of national discussion unless someone actively pushes it. It’s not going to be Hillary’s opponents in the primaries because they’ll be too busy stealing her thesis ideas for their own (just ask Biden.)
It won’t be a topic of discussion unless someone makes it a topic of discussion. The is just a question of timing. Can the GOP exercise discipline for once?
The cat is out of the bag and will be all over the Internet in no time. BTW, the leadership of the GOP has no gonads and hasn’t done much in the way of smart for the past 7 years. Don’t want to burst anyone’s bubble.
The cat is out of the bag and will be all over the Internet in no time.Yeah, but only FReepers and such are going to see it.
Wellesley's efforts to keep the thesis under wraps were contemptible.
The college president, Nannerl Keohane, declared that 'The senior thesis of every Wellesley alumna is available in the college archives for anyone to read -- except for those written by either a "president or first lady of the United States."'
When MSNBC called her up to discuss the decision Keohane, who's contributed to Democratic politicians, 'replied, "I have no memory of this," and hung up the phone.'
So now it's out and all's for the best. So far it seems pretty dull, though. The ideas may be shocking, but academic prose makes everything it touches leaden and dull.
Okay, and thanks. I appreciate the extra info. (And, perhaps you'll understand my hesitation and suspiciousness when it comes to anything released related to Hillary.)
I tip my tinfoil hat in your direction, sir.
Have you read it? I did. I don’t find it all that damning. Hillary is probably behind its release. Hell, she even mentions that Alinsky was against LBJ’s War on Poverty calling it a sham. The only part I found interesting was her comparison of Alinsky to Debs, Whitman, and MLK. Obviously, using this comparison, she admired Alinsky despite making some critical remarks about him.
Thanks! I wonder who leaked the thesis. As I recall it was briefly circulating on eBay about three years ago—*very* briefly. Hillary’s book glosses over it briefly IIRC.
Kabar:
“The only part I found interesting was her comparison of Alinsky to Debs, Whitman, and MLK.”
Everyone will have their own take on this which is why it belongs on the internet.
My favorite line is on pgs 7-8
The key word for an Alinsky-type organizing effort is power. The question is how one acquires power, and Alinskys answer is through organization For Alinsky, power is the very essence of life, the dynamic of life and is found in active citizen participation pulsing upward providing a unified strength for a common purpose of organization .
If material like this (pulsing upward providing a unified strength) gets before the general public, we will finally be able to see Hillary as the passionate, sexual creature she really is. (sarc)
BTW: You ‘out’ yourself when you start a post with “Have you read it?”
