JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- A Baptist minister has been charged in Tennessee with indecent exposure and driving under the influence. Police said 58-year-old Tommy Tester of Bristol, Va., was wearing a skirt when he was arrested last week after allegedly relieving himself in front of children at a car wash.
A report also accuses Tester of offering police officers oral sex and says an open bottle of vodka and empty oxycodone prescription bottle was found in his car when Tester was arrested Friday.
Authorities identified Tester as the minister of Gospel Baptist Church in Bristol and an employee of Christian radio station WZAP-AM, also in Bristol. WZAP issued a statement asking for prayers and saying Tester has been suspended during an investigation.
Tester was released Friday on $1,000 bail. A hearing is scheduled for October.
I understand the Metropolitan community Church has openings, as well as some ELCA congregations.
Is it just me or is there irony in the fact this was reported in.........JOHNSON CITY!
I understand. One for bait, and the other to anchor your boat. :-)
Like the old joke: Any time four priests gather togeather you’ll find a fifth.
I can’t see his legs, so I have no idea if he rocked that skirt or not. However, the multi-chiin and receding hairline do not bode well for his attractiveness as a lady.
Still, get enough booze and oxy under your belt and who knows what might happen?
Has this guy suffered a mental disorder?
Well, at least he’s been released so he can show up and ask questions at the ‘Rats Homosexual “Debate” next week.
That is an old joke, but it’s still LOL, and often true. I know our priest enjoys a manly belt of liquor from time to time. In fact, we give him booze for Christmas each year. My (Evangelical) mother calls us “Sipping Saints”.
Yep, give it a chance and that old Oxycodone will climb right on top of you.
Hey, as long as he wasn’t dancing...
LOL. Boy that’s the truth. Some of the ones I know up in these parts (east Tennessee) believe you can rape your daughters, grandaughters, steal from your neighbor, the government, etc., but DON’T drink a beer or you’ll go to Hell.
It says he's a Baptist.
Enjoy your moment.
Spokane diocese bankruptcy hearing held on victims.
Sex Abuse Payouts Bankrupt DioceseThe archdiocese of Oregon today filed for bankruptcy.
The San Diego diocese filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Feb. 27, just hours before going to trial in more than 140 lawsuits alleging sexual abuse by priests. ...
As he is a Baptist, I fear this will end his career.
Bible states, “Be not filled with wine wherein is excess” Eph 5:18... anything out of balance is sin.... overeating, oversleeping, spending too much, etc.... As a christian I can have a drink but not to be drunk or out of control.
Alcohol is not a sin...misuse of it is however. I like a beer and wine with a meal thank you....and Praise to God the Almighty One hallelujah. If one cannot control their drinking however then don’t drink period. Self Control!
Ummmm, how’s that work, they throw you in the men’s holding tank in jail and you’re wearing a skirt? I certainly hope it was discrete and not a mini...
He could always 'come home' to the Roman church and hit the speaking circuit.
Time for an apology and Rehab, then all will be right.
I was baptized in my early 20’s by the guy that was our (Baptist) pastor at the time. When the church was considering calling this guy to be pastor, my wife was the only one who voted against it (I wasn’t yet a voting member, having not yet been baptized), because as my wife said “Something is very wrong with this man”. When my wife says something like that, it’s good to listen.
Well, a few months after he baptized me a church secretary went into this pastor’s off-limits “prayer room”, which was formerly a large utility closet. She discovered that his “prayer room” was something else entirely, being papered from stem to stern with porn.
After he was forced out in disgrace I considered being re-baptized, but then realized that the person doing the baptism isn’t what matters.
You don’t know how bad I wanted to say that. Thank you, and best of luck.
