An operation aimed at rescuing the remaining 21 Korean hostages held by the Taliban began on Wednesday in Afghanistan's Ghazni province, a provincial official said, hours after the expiry of another Taliban deadline.
"The operation has started," said Khowja Seddiqi, the district chief of Ghazni's Qarabagh district, where the Taliban kidnapped 23 Korean Christian volunteers nearly two weeks ago.
He did not give more details or say who was involved.

Not ONE of the ba$#rds should be left standing.
This wouldn’t happen if we’d simply informed the terrorists that “you kill one hostage, we execute FIVE of those on your list.”

I do so hope that a whole bunch of ROK “specialists” are involved. With very open ROE.

Hopefully this unit will be the one involved. Particularly relevant is the part about “combat-qualified female operators.” Normally I’m no fan of women in combat, but the idea of a Korean commando pulling a submachinegun from under her burqua and riddling a roomful of Al Qaedas makes me smile.

The only question that remains is....will the 9th Century knuckledraggers kill the Koreans with guns or with swords?
My money's on swords.

My guess is that by their announcing same it has already taken place. God speed to the rescue ops and those held hostage.

One of my old boyfriends was a Marine. The only group of military he felt was equivalent to Marine Corp standards was the ROKMC and the British Royal Marines.

I dont know. This broke from a politician in Afghanistan. Who knows maybe that was his way of warning the terrorist that the calvary was on the way.

The first one executed was the Christian pastor who was leading this group of Christians from South Korea into Afghanistan. Maybe the media does not care that Christians get slaughtered by their captors. We should pray for safety but to announce to the press you are coming in sounds like a bad end for those being held.

AND add a little “Pershing” treatment for all of them.

The old ROK did not have ROE. That's why their units were the only ones not attacked on Tet.
Don't know about the new ROK.

This was reported hours ago, then the report was withdrawn. Is it reported again?
