I'm not going to call Bill O'Reilly a liar... yet, but... on his TV show today, he read off a laundry list of ridiculous "hate" statements like "I hate blacks," "Hillary should be assassinated" and "homosexuals are dogs" that he said he personally found on Free Republic and claims that they were posted here today. I do not believe that. I doubt that he personally logged on to FR and I doubt he found any such thing posted here today.
Who knows what we may have missed and is buried deep in our archives of millions of posts, but our readers do a pretty good job of alerting us to anything out of bounds that is posted and we pull it. Also, one of our readers found a couple of the quotes he alleges, and if they are the ones O'Reilly is complaining about, he took them way out of context. They were simply quotes in the articles posted not statements posted by FReepers.
As soon as he provides me a list of the alleged posts and their URLs, I'll believe him. If he doesn't... then... well, guess he'll deserve to be known as what he is.
Very true. I read the posts on the location you gave and if searching for words, he could zero in on I hate blacks. But, it was not our hate speech it was a discussion of history.

Just a cheap shot from O’Reilly to soften his stance against Kos. Real nice, tear down our reputation over a few misinterpreted comments and ignore the thousands upon thousands of kind, thoughtful, intelligent discussions.
So, I guess O’Reilly is in need of another witch-hunt. He will become the speech monitor.

Because a poster or two has a nasty comment slip by the moderators that does not make the forum a hate site. There are a few posters who go to the edge, but I would not necessarily categorize them as haters. A hate site is a forum that would allow a large percentage of posters to make derogatory comments about certain ethnic groups or religions. I've yet to see that on FR.

I have written O’Reilly many times about his out-of-line comments, the use of his power against the oil companies because he cannot understand the oil industry and markets.
Keep quiet? Why?
A reputation is hard to build and easy for O’Reilly to destroy without backing up his claim.
Notice he did not mention DU (Democrats Underground-in case O’Reilly is searching for more hate sites).
We have seen their comments and they are always distasteful.
But, it has the name democrats - so, of course, O’Reilly will not touch it. He would rather win points to lure Hillary to his show by trashing an effective right wing site of conservatives all over the nation.
Bad move O’Reilly.
Now that those vile words have been on BOR’s show we may as well say that HIS show is a “hate show” that features such phrases, right? His quoting them is the essentially the same as someone posting an article where a phrase appears — it’s a 3rd party quotation not an endorsement.
O’Reilly’s pickin’ a fight he can’t win.
I’m sure Jim and Company will clear this up. I would love for Kristinn and Jim force O’Really to put up or shut up.
I bet ten bucks his shrink (after his late night calls to a prod. talking DIRTY to her) has something like.....a Buckley complex. He consistantly feigns the Buckley mannerisms and lowers his voice an octive.

He doesn’t even know what the site is and he then seeks to tell us how to run the site.
He has shown his ignorance. He also shows his ignorance when he turns against the war after the surge only had 3 months, when he tells the oil companies to be free provider of oil instead of making profit for the stockholders, and now when he tries to lure the left by trashing his own viewers.
Well, ignorance is ignorance. But a talk show host should be careful.
What prompted the Leprechaun’s hit piece on FR was Lanny Davis naming FR as a right wing hate site on yesterday’s Factor program.
I don’t understand why Billo is attacking you personally, and this site. You have done more for conservatism than just about anyone, and he has this nerve. He should apologize on his show in full repentance. Doubt it will happen
