I taped a segment on the O'Reilly Factor for airing tonight to defend Free Republic against charges that it is a hate site. The segment will air in the 'D block' around 8:35 p.m. EDT and rerun at 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. EDT.
Rather than tell how it went, I'll leave it for folks to watch and decide for themselves. I hope I did right by FR.
We'll be having company tonight as some of Bill O'Reilly's two million-plus viewers check out FR for themselves. So please bear that in mind as you comment tonight. The Daily Kos is waging a very nasty personal campaign of retribution against O'Reilly. No sense in us piling on. Let's use this as an opportunity to show people why FR is the best conservative site on the web.

Bill O'Reilly speaks of "hate speech"..he needs to go over to the Democratic Underground and read what REAL hate speech is all about.
I challenge him to preach about "no room for hate speech" after visiting that vile site.

At least O’Reilly did not equate FR and Daily Kos as the same. However, he was a bully!
From what I read in the "loofah" incident it is more vulgar than anything I have ever seen on this website.
What I find amazing is that the moderators we have instantly go after troll posters. And for anyone viewing this post who has never been to this site before.
There is a little button under this post called "Report Abuse", as soon as that button is hit a moderator is alerted to that post and it can quickly be deleted.
Free Republic is not a hate site, and it is a joke to even be compared to the vile crap seen at Daily Kos.
I have been a member since 1998, What is being said tonight is totally misrepresented. O’Reilly has become a card carrying member of the drive by media in a big way. Selective outrage on this show is completely outrageous and the stuff we have seen in the media for years. People, don’t let these light weights move you. They are not representative of the people. Although, BOR will pretend he is.
I saw the spokesman from KOS and a black guy from the DLC but I did not see Kristinn; what’s up w/dat?

O’Reilly’s biggest nightmare is that Rush Limbaugh will return to television.
O’Reilly did concede to Kristinn that the hate remarks were a small part and/or planted. But the overall impression was that FR is a site with a lot of hate speech. He also said he researched threads about himself on FR and they were vile.
Of fer Gods sake he is talking about hate speech and is now having Al Sharpton on. This is complete BS.

Bill O’Reilly did say that the DailyKos is much worse then Free Republic. Otherwise, this is just O’Reilly attempting to be fair and balanced. Cleaning up FR is a matter of FReepers hitting the abuse button when they come across outrageous posts.
Hah, wonder if O’R posted it himself? But seriously, I doubt he found it at all. If he had, he would have done a screen shot of it.
