Tehran, Iran (AHN) - The Islamic Republic of Iran on Monday lashed out against Washington's decision to sell arms to Saudi Arabia, blasting the offer for spreading fears and worries in the Middle East.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Mohammad Ali Hosseini said, "The region needs peace, stability and security, the United States has always had special policy of spreading fear in the region and tarnishing existing good relations among countries in this region."
"The U.S. is trying to disturb it by selling weapons to the region," he added.
Iran's statement came as U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice starts her key regional tour in the Middle East aimed at uniting American allies against Iran, Syria and Hezbollah. Rice declares Iran as the biggest threat in the region.
Early this week, the U.S. announced of a planned arms deal with Saudi Arabia amounting to $20 billion.
Rice met with Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa and both leaders discussed the Iraqi and Lebanon situation. Rice, who is traveling with U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates, will also be meeting Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Arab ministers at the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.
She said, "The United States is determined to assure our allies that we are going to be reliable in helping them to meet their security needs. We have a lot of interests in common in this region: in the fight against terrorism and extremism; in protecting the gains of peace processes of the past and in extending those gains to peace processes of the future."
In Ireland, Rice told reporters, "There isn't a doubt, I think, that Iran constitutes the single most important, single-country challenge to... U.S. interests in the Middle East and to the kind of Middle East that we want to see."

Burning our food is not a bright idea, but companies such as Devon out of OK are doing what they do, drilling for and finding O I L.

Saudi Arabia is the primary spreader of Islamic Fundamentalism. Iranian belligerence is not as dangerous, ultimately, as is and has been the imperialism of that rogue clan from the Nejd.
Allowing the Saudis to get their hands on the Hejaz through religious extremism will probably go down as one of the worst geopolitical fubars the western allies committed after WWI. Right up there with the breakup of Austro-Hungary and the Sykes-Picot Agreement (which is, of course, what guaranteed Saudi ascendancy).
“He who controls the food controls the world .”
Very good point.
Thanks for the feedback.
I think that biofuel is a fraud. I also believe that it will never replace real oil no matter how much our government will demand that the people utilize biofuel. The people think that gas prices are high now just wait until biofuel is forced on us. There will be a revolt, I hope.
Your welcome, I have time on my hands, and read a lot, probably too much, haha . My granddaughter says I need to stop reading so much .
I think the One World Order is in high gear these days. I’m an older lady and let me tell you, it’s like waking up on a strange planet sometimes .
Next time I go to one of these sites I will let you know.
Please let me know.
Also, I feel your fear. The New World Order is stretching its legs. The North American Union is being sanctioned out of sight of prying eyes.
With all the hungry and starving people in the world, what other Countries grow food so they can burn it?
If it isn't just arrogance, it would be a definition of insanity ................ FRegards
No different from the ban on DDT. Millions died before there was a call to admit that the ban was a scam.
We are the last hope for America . The elites don’t care about this nation, they have other places to go and plenty of money to hire protection when they get there .
We ned to open our minds and get informed .Stop supporting ‘party’s’ and start supporting God fearing patriots .
How much more will this administration fool us ? Seems the dems and repubs just keep changing seats and have a lot more in common than we realize .
What if ll the world leaders are just putting on a show or us to keep us fooled till they can get their One World Government in place .
And Saudi Arabia is right in there on this biofurl deal with the other ,like Shell,ExonMobile, BP and others . So is Cargill and some big agri business’s .
This is not capitalism ,it is something else altogether. Capitalism is a good thing , whatever this new high jacking of it is , is a bad thing .
Amen!
You are right there. Capitalism doesn't need government to fund advancements.
More like fascism.
