That list sucks. Seriously.

Drudge? That’s not a conservative site. Matt simply links you to other stories, mostly at liberal news outlets.

O’Reilly’s comments and Rupert Murdoch’s refusal to criticize China should have put an end to the “Fox is right wing” thing long ago.

WSJ? Their editorial page is (except for immigration, where they’re hard left). The rest of that paper is as leftist as the New York Times. Their reporters staged a political protest when Rupert Murdoch made his bid.

US News is centrist, not conservative.

Lew Rockwell? Lew fscking Rockwell????? He’s a Bush hating nutbag libertarian, and has been from early on.

And on the subject of Libertarians.....Libs are NOT conservatives. The Mises Institute, while it does some good work in some areas, has no business being on a conservative list. Conservatism includes social conservatism, and Libertarianism does not. There’s no such thing as a “libertarian conservative”. That’s as absurd as “liberal conservative” or “marxist conservative”. No such beast exists.

Apparently, JimRob doesn't agree. Republican libertarians are a vital part of our party. They have been ever since the Fifties when William F. Buckley and Barry Goldwater created the conservative movement, both known for their libertarian positions.

How about me? I am a God fearing laissez-faire economist. The only reason for government is to enforce morality (abortion, murder, adultery, homosexuality, theft, ect) and national defense. God never set up economic controls on his people. Note: do not confuse symbolic law with economic controls, economic controls are made for economic reasons, not symbolism.
Economic freedom and Godliness go hand in hand. Label it something other than conservative if you wish.
Also note, someone can be an economic libertarian and a social conservative. The two are compatible.

Christopher Hitchens? Smart, drunk, pro-military, but he’s essentially as socialist as they get.
