I'm back home. The city golf program is pretty much in three parts. The first part (which we actually missed, so we're doing the second session) is in the park on the baseball fields (because it's flat, I guess) and they bring practice equipment. A few years back, we did a second part on a driving range. My son was doing okay. My daughter was doing great -- she hit one past the "75" marker, which I'm sure is feet and not yards, but still nice. But she hates golf and won't go back.

When kids advance enough, they play on a local golf course. They even have tryouts there. Last year, there were girls from Bishop Kearny High School there who looked like they were from the school golf team. Who knew that they even had a golf team. Not back in my day, that's for sure.

My oldest son takes his 13 y.o. daughter to the golf course with him sometimes as she likes to learn. Not sure if they “actually” play.
