Why call it 23%?
8% sales tax (current method) on a 100.00 item results in a total cost of 108.00
Under the Fair Tax 23$ rate that 100.00 item would cost about 129.00.
Why are games being played to hide the real rate?
The dollar amount of tax is the same. Whether you’re quoting the tax inclusive rate or the tax exclusive rate.
Well how long do you think it would take people to demand the tax be lowered. See if all pay the same percentage it will wake up alot of dead beats who think taxes are a good thing. Every time the .gov wants to increase taxes they will have to increase them on EVERYONE!!!!! Plus you have much more economic FREEDOM. YOU decide what YOU want to buy and pay taxes on. It is a WONDERFUL idea.
Why call it 23%?
If you earn $100 at 23% income tax rate, the government gets 23$
Under the Fair Tax, if the retailer has revenue of $100, the government gets $23.
Yes, it’s different from the sales tax, but as long as that is clearn, it’s not dishonest.
Wrong again. You did not eliminate the imbedded tax in the item which is ........23 percent. Cost of item stays the same.It is revenue neutral. Come on do you work for the govt?
