Soccer Players Describe Torture by Hussein's Son
The Iraq Foundation ^ | 5/6/03 | JOHN F. BURNS

Posted on 07/29/2007 7:29:28 PM PDT by Obadiah

As president of Iraq's Olympic committee, the president's son was the country's sports czar. According to several accounts from players, he turned his sadistic obsessions on the national soccer team.

But those were the lesser miseries. Some players endured long periods in a military prison, beaten on their backs with electric cables until blood flowed. Other punishments included "matches" kicking concrete balls around the prison yard in 130-degree heat, and 12-hour sessions of push-ups, sprints and other fitness drills, wearing heavy military fatigues and boots.

Yes, I know this is an "old" article, but in light of the recent comments of the Iraqi soccer Team Captain, I thought it would be helpful for all to remember Iraq's recent history.

I remember. I think of it when I see libs talking about our presence in Iraq. The way I look at it is, that we relieved the world of at least 3 murdering bastards with the deaths of Saadam and his 2 sons.

We had no right to "invade" Iraq.

None what so ever.

They were doing just fine without our involvment.

Ask the 'Rats if you need further info.

Just be sure you ask the 'Rats, not the Iraqi people.

My son spent a year there and he has given me all the first hand evidence that I need of how our presence there has bettered the lot of the Iraqi people and as I noted in my previous reply, the world now has three fewer murdering monsters if nothing else. Saadam and his sons were responsible for the deaths and torture of hundreds of thousands.

Libs just really piss me off.

You are so right (sarcasm continued)

What right do we have to interfere with the sadistic pleasures of the sons of dictators.

Now if they injured a dog or a cat, then we would have a right to invade Iraq. PETA would be screaming.

But the above things about the torture of the soccer team is of no concern whatever to PETA.

After all, the rights of dogs and cats superced those of human beings. Any good PETA member knows that... [sarcasm off]

The changes that have occurred in Iraq are reported every day by the MSM!!!

That is why Peter Jennings is still the Anchor for ABC, Tom Brokaw for NBC, and Dan Rather for CBS.

Oh, I don't think those people are the current anchors of those networks. I wonder why...

The father of Senator Teddy Kennedy (Joe Sr) did not want the feelings of this poor German chancellor hurt back in 1938/39.

Joe and his friends (prime minister of England and Frace) thought this poor German chancellor should be given more room to expand from Austria and the Czechoslovakia (spelling?) as well as Sudenland from France. What a family Teddy is part of...

Hmmm. This German guy only helped kill about 40-60 million people. Maybe it was a good thing to get rid of Saddam before he started exporting nuclear bombs with Al Qaeda...

Saw the news on TV regarding the celebrations for the win of the tournament. According to the account the team was made of of all elements of Iraqi society..if they can pull together to win a soccer tournament, I wonder why they can’t figure out that they could have the same kind of success building a wonderful country if they would just do the same thing. But I suppose they will miss the point as they are more intent on tribal issues and dominance.

To borrow from Manuel II Palelologus

"Show me just what the Kennedys brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman."

That’s too bad. I guess he and some others think that as soon as the Americans leave, that al Queda will decide to leave the Iraqis alone.

Interesting point, but the color barrier in baseball was broken long before “whites only” signs went down in America. Some things just take a little time.

Meanwhile, I’m listening to Deanta’s “The Benedy Glen” and am wondering how long before we are singing a similar lament in Arlington.

Someone needs to send this to Pelosi and Kerry who don’t think Saddam was all that bad. Perhaps those two would have volunteered to take the players place during their play time with Saddam’s friends.
