BESLAN, Russia, July 28 (Reuters) - Previously unseen film proves that the bloody end to the 2004 Beslan siege was caused by security forces firing on a school crammed with hostages, not by blasts from within, a victim support group says.

Complete disregard for the lives of hostages. Just like the “rescue” operation of the theater in moscow.
“Just like the rescue operation of the theater in moscow.”
Yes - when they used a nerve agent without having enough antidote on had for all the hostages.
...not to mention the refusal to accept foreign help when it came to saving the sailors on Kursk.
I’m willing to call it a ‘hamfisted’ rescue attempt. At the same time, the anger should be aimed at the TERRORISTS.
There is also ample evidence that the FSB purposely let the terrorists in across the border so that this could all be staged and allow Putin to grab more power.
Nah, I wouldn’t go that far. The russian gov’t has a general disregard for human lives, that’s all.
Well said.
Not a nerve agent, but Fentanyl, a very powerful synthetic opioid. Puts you out with no warning at all. The counter-drug may have been on hand, but hospital staff were not told what had been used.
Mrs VS
Well, actually there is very good information that the FSB let them walk in uncontested.
No - it appears that the Russians ACTIVELY worked to make this tragedy happen.

Sure, but if anything it was a tactical mistake, not a ploy to let the hostage taking take place so Putin could "grab more power".
The facts are the facts. The children had been held hostage for a long time. Long enough that their continued health was a great concern. The terrorists had been systematically murdering male hostages. The place was rigged from top to bottom with explosives. The terrorists showed no concern about their own lives. They planned this attack so that they could take advantage of gaining the largest number of hostages and victims as possible.
Somebody had to go in and start killing. Unfortunately, many innocents died.
It gets worse - lots of conjucture that the Russians even allowed recon missions weeks earlier.

Dont forget that the FSB was found setting expolsives in Russian apt buildings - to blame the “terrorists”.
I always wondered about the authenticity of this image.
Why would a hostage disable a hand by wrapping it in the hand like this.
Also, the grit under the nails indicates that this person was clawing thru something - if so, how did the cross emerge pristine and otherwise not ripped off the chain. Mine has broken with a few pounds of pressure.
“Somebody had to go in and start killing.”
Civilized countries often resolve these hostage situations by negotiation.
And whats up with using tank fire - 7 rounds - thats bound to kill more hostages than terrorists - and it did.
You don’t negotiate with terrorists. You kill them.
that picture was taken after she was rescued. 8^)
ps she's still alive last i knew.
