600 ‘suicide bombers’ lurking in twin cities (Pakistan)
Daily Times ^ | Sunday, July 29, 2007 | Sharif Khan

Posted on 07/28/2007 5:53:09 PM PDT by gandalftb

“Around 600 students of Jamia Hafsa and Jamia Fareedia have not returned to their homes after the Lal Masjid operation. These are the people called ‘missing students’ and they are hiding in madrassas and mosques in and around the two cities Islamabad and Rawalpindi. They are walking bombs and are determined to blow themselves up any time, anywhere,” said a source directly involved in the ongoing investigation of suicide blasts in the country.

Lal Masjid prayer leader Maulana Abdul Aziz said that five to six hundred students of the two madrassas had been trained, equipped and brainwashed to carry out suicide attacks. These students left the madrassa according to a plan before the final operation against the mosque was launched.”

“During the debriefing of students captured from Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa, the security agencies learnt that the teenaged students believed that President Pervez Musharraf and his team were kaafirs (non-believers) and agents of the US and had to be killed. The bombers are targeting army and law enforcement personnel to avenge the killings of their colleagues and Abdul Rashid Ghazi.”

“Investigations have revealed that these operatives are operating from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.”

Folks, ya gotta get past the headlines.

Yeah, it's not like the headline should have anything to do with it.

Based on the numbers of parents of missing students, many of whom have heard from their children, there is no more than 300 potential bombers and probably a lot less.

All military and police have been ordered not to wear uniforms when off duty.

BTW 14 police and rioters have been killed fighting over the repainting of the Red Mosque to white. Very volitile situation.

Even 50 would cause extraordinary damage and carnage.

Please ask the forum moderator to add [Pakistan] in brackets after the headline.

To Americans, "twin cities" means Minneapolis/St. Paul. I have friends there, and even if you read the article and find out it's Pakistan, there's a nasty shock to begin with.

The headline is especially misleading when you consider MN has an extremely large Mus-Symp population.

Let's also ask the moderator to create some reader controls, just like we have parental controls. That way we can soften some of the forum posts and not have some people reaching for the Rolaids instead of their thinking caps.

FR is the premier forum in the world for tackling our biggest problems. We can't start rewriting or explaining press reports if we want credibility.

BTW, does anyone have an opinion on the coming civil war in the only nuclear weaponized country that has ceded part of its territory to an organization that wants to exterminate America?

Just curious.....

Pakistan, not Minnesota. Read the article.

Do you realize what you are asking of many FReepers? Some never read the article even after they post!

Does anyone else remember the Lemmings computer game? This article reminded me of the "bombers" in that game.

I just downloaded the now-free software to my iMac and launched it. Amazingly, Mac Classic started up (for the first time in years) and -- once I adjusted the number of colors to 256 -- the game worked just like new!
