Finally! Dingy Harry has found a war he can fund to fight with all the Democratic Party's might. The War On Bark Beetles!

Soooo little...
SOOOOO TERRIBLY LATE.........
Enviros should be proud of all their results on this issue.
Thank the 9th Circuitious Court for stopping all salvage operations of burned timber areas, also.
This just gives the bark beetle more to attack.
This announcement is a very big dog and pont show.
All hat——No brains....

More Reid Nepotism, eh?”
Most likely...
The beetles have a 25 year head start ++++++
Reid has a 70+ year head start.
Neither will be easily stopped.
Specially wioth the environazis getting into the act.

This will be a fun thread, but in fact, these beetles are very destructive. Years ago I was up in Idaho and there were dead trees all over the place, just standing there with the bark all dropping, or dropped, off.
I asked what killed all these trees, my Idaho friends told me "bark beetles".
These things can wipe out millions of trees. That being said, Reid is the scum of the earth!

Bark beetles are difficult to study because they spend the majority of their lives protected under bark
Sort of like Senators and Senate Rules

Because of bark beetles and fires, I have enough firewood to last me the next twenty years. Pinyons have been especially hard hit.

Bark beetles are difficult to study because they spend the majority of their lives protected under bark. Not as difficult to study as politicians like Reid who has spent majority of his career under a rock.
To: mdittmar
The bark beetle has caused much devastation in western forests hmmm..their bark must be bigger than their bite.

We are happy to appropriate a few hundred thousand of the people’s money to research a pest that is destroying millions of trees, research that might take years if not decades to mature into actually protecting the trees, but we cannot possibly allow private companies to spend their own capital to log even a fraction of those trees, even though we stand to reap millions in taxes from any profits.
If history is any guide, when we are faced with thousands of acres of these dead trees, we will not allow anyone to harvest them. Thus the crowd who lectures the rest of us about “sustainability” would rather see the forest rot than for us to harvest any of it.
To: theBuckwheat
I suspect the logging companies would be willing to spend some money on research to protect the resource if there were a profit from it in the end.
